Planning a Vacation? Don’t Forget the Porn Stars! (An example fo the fall of a once great country)
CNBC ^ | 12/30/2009 | Staff

Film studios are a frequent stop for the typical Los Angeles tourist – and the really lucky ones sometimes get a brief glimpse of favorite star making a movie.

Technically, things aren’t vastly different for the folks who book their trips through Porn Week – though these vacationers catch a whole lot more than a quick glimpse of the actors. Instead, they’re on the set of a porn film – watching, helping behind the scenes or (if they’re brave enough) perhaps joining the cast themselves.

It’s Fantasyland, to be sure – but Mickey and Donald are nowhere in sight.

A porn-themed vacation is hardly everyday, but it’s not as far from the mainstream as you might think. In fact, the U.K.’s Bravo television network has aired a reality show centered around the Porn Week travel company for more than four seasons.

..

Week’s customers – but the financial demographics might surprise you. At roughly $2,000 per trip, the vacations aren’t for the cash poor. And the sets are as likely to be to Prague or Budapest as they are to LA, which boosts airfare costs (which aren’t included in the package). This, says organizers, helps weed out the riff-raff.

“We don’t tend to get the raincoat brigade,” says Gazzman. “We’ve had everyone from airplane pilots to doctors to dentists. … Because of the price point of the business, it attracts a certain level of client. There aren’t many yahoos who turn up on our trips. We can have a fairly sophisticated experience – with glasses of wine on sets and watching the porn happening while people are relaxing and kicking back.”

The sooner that abomination of a state breaks off from the continent slides deep down into the Pacific Ocean, the better!

Dunno, it might help kill the porn industry if more people saw how it really works. I can’t think of much thats less interesting.

Gee what about those of us who have never had a “favorite star”?

Not all of So Cal is that bad, although it does have its moments. Northern CA tends to vote much more blue, while Orange County, Riverside County, San Beranrdino County, and parts of San Diego county consistently vote conservative.

OTOH, we just moved from that part of CA to the midwest to get away from California’s government and the illegal aliens.

One of the funniest episodes of "The Man Show" had a bit titled "Adult Film Fantasy Camp," sort of a take off on the baseball fantasy camps. I miss that show (the original one with Jimmy & Adam, not the later version).

You couldn’t write this comedy any better if you tried.

So the usual, hugely over-rated glass of fermented grape, magically renders the smut “sophisticated”.

They don’t get the raincoat brigade-—BS.

Just expensive raincoat wearers. There is little difference between rich perverts and poor ones other than money.

It’s a pendulum.

The 1700s were full of sex clubs, socially-accepted prostitution, etc.

This, too, shall pass.

When are yahoos like you going to wake up and realize that this kind of thing isn't a California problem, it's a USA problem? The only reason that your backwater state hasn't been overrun with idiots in the same manner is because we have nicer weather and nicer geography here. Period. Not to mention that California, at one time, had easily the the biggest economy of any state in the union, so every parasite from the other 49 moved here to leech off of the wealth. Now we're ruined. But if you think that you don't have your share of idiots in your state, you are deluding yourself completely.
