NEW YORK, USA -- The American Dairy Association & Dairy Council unveiled a giant cup of hot chocolate in Bryant Park; it weighs more than 4,180 pounds before the addition of marshmallows-setting the world record for the Largest Cup of Hot Chocolate.
The seven-foot wide mug held 487 gallons -- that's almost eight thousand cups of of piping hot cocoa -- not to mention tons of marshmallows.
Officials said they expected to distribute 6,000 to 10,000 free cups of cocoa.
The World's Largest Cup of Hot Chocolate, unveiled in Bryant Park, weighs more than 4,180 pounds before the addition of marshmallows and heats the traditional winter beverage to an optimal temperature of 120 degrees
The previous Guinness world record for the largest cup of hot chocolate was set by the Serendipity Three Restaurant with a four gallons hot chocolate.
The American Dairy Association & Dairy Council said the Largest Cup of Hot Chocolate event was organized to remind people of the importance of drinking milk for Vitamin D during the winter months.

When it holds 787 gallons, is it still considered a cup???
The word VAT comes to mind...

The best margarita party that I ever attended, was in Houston.
A hot tub was kept full with margarita, from a milk truck, and you were issued pitchers that you could refill as often as you chose.

That and the world's largest hamburger from Seymour, WI and we're all set.
Actually I'll take the beer before the hot chocolate with the burger... hold the mayo.

Must be liberals.

Only a liberal could plan to give away 10,000 'free' cups when they only have 8,000.

Kinda like we should all drink wine for the anti-oxidants and beer for the healthy carbohydrates they contain?

Hi, Pete! I’m with you on the beer and wine idea, LOL! :)
Just started another jug of Cranberry Wine on New Year’s Day. I’m getting pretty good at it, as well as the added benefit of avoiding paying alcohol taxes to the state. ;)

I found an even prettier pic — a mug with cream — extra tall and pouring over the side of the mug, but I didn’t want to post a pic that large. LOL.
