These pictures are pretty much the death knell for the theory that all female basketball players are unattractive. sure the WNBA doesn't have a whole lot of lookers in the traditional sense (or any sense really), but at the college level and the international level, there are clearly some beauties out there that are failing to be recognized. The Belarus Ladies Basketball team is the latest in a string of sexy women in basketball.
I don't know much about these women, but in the past unearthing gorgeous women in basketball has been difficult. It is tough to tell how attractive they are when they are wearing their basketball gear and even when one is found, its just one. The Belarus team appears to be littered with beautiful women. All 12 women on the team are posing for different months and they all are attractive on some level, though admittedly some are more so than others.
Why can't the WNBA find these women? Is the level of play so high and the feminism so stubborn that the league and the women themselves can't try to profit off of their looks? My argument stands that these women probably would have a shot in the league talent-wise to at least sit on the bench, but that might be enough to sell extra tickets.
I mean, I would definitely go see the Belarus team play, but I have never been to a Phoenix Mercury or Chicago Sky game. Enough said.
Your reply has merit to it with regard to all of the other threads that you mentioned, however, I just think that some common courtesy should be extended to the other half (women) who frequent this online forum. That’s all. ;-)

I think you set up a false dichotomy- you seem to suggest the choices are between salacious photos of women or pitbulls, NFL drivel etc. I routinely read material here that fall into neither category.
For me, a women, the title ‘sexy calendar’ text implies a level of explicitness common to TV guide or Sports Illustrated. But then I check the thread and it really is more appropriate for mens magazines - not something you’d leave on the coffee table for the family to see, not something I want to see. I don’t think it reflects well on FR.
Perhaps, as a courtesy to the mixed company environment we have here on FR, this kind of stuff could be put in a locker room type thread specifically for ‘adults’ or something more descriptive to indicate what the viewer will find?

Actually, I have never actually read Sports Illustrated so I withdraw that publication from consideration.
Asking for consideration for the public commons draws responses implying that it’s either THIS or NFL drivel or better yet - that I am a burka wearing muslim....just for asking for considerate behavior for a mixed company environment? Hey ... I have no need to “prove” myself to you, nor to disseminate a lie to you regarding myself. Just seen the level of tact here kind of go off into poor territory with posts like this or comments to the type of “I’d hit it” or “I’d do it” and so on. Not really in the “spirit” of what this site was founded upon and created for.

I’m a female and I’m not offended. People who are going to get offended have the option of not clicking on the link; the headline on the thread was pretty up-front about what was going to be here.
Frankly, I click on these things because seeing other women who are lovely and in great shape inspires me to exercise, keep my hair and skin looking good, discipline myself about holiday food, and exercise some more.
