Dell's smartphone was formally announced late last year and is currently available only in China and Brazil. A source had told Reuters in October that Dell planned to sell a phone in the United States on AT&T's network.
If it runs android then the difference would seem to be in the internals.

AT&T 3G. We expect the specs to remain pretty much the same: 3.5-inch 640x360 display, Bluetooth, 3 megapixel auto-focus camera with flash, microSD, and GPS, though we'll have to wait to get that confirmed. And from the looks of that pic of a prototype supplied by Direct2Dell, this Android handset will be custom skinned for AT&T. Look for it to hit sometime in the first half of 2010. Bonus pic after the break.
I’m sure it will do as well as the Dell MP3 player did.
Dell has never been much of an innovator - they just copy and follow the market, which generally means they’re late to the party and a generation (or two) behind.
Never been impressed with them since my original Dell System 220 running at a double-clocked and blistering 20mhz.

By know we all know that Dell intends to launch an Android phone in the USA and we also know it's going to be an improved version of the Android smartphone announced for the Chinese market. Today we find out that the FCC has cleared the phone and now we're waiting for an U.S. carrier to pick it up.
The smartphone comes with support for 850/1900 GSM UMTS bands which indicate that AT&T is definitely a good candidate for launching the phone.
The phone comes with a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, 640 x 360 resolution, AGPS, WiFi connectivity, a 3-megapixel camera and
Microsoft Exchange support.

It is getting wild and crazy...Cisco ...assuming they are involved with the innards of the cellphone network somewhere should benefit.
With Exchange support, looks like it. Any word on whether it is encryptable?
I am not sure what chip they are using....
Dell sucks.
This is good. With more competition come lower prices.
Maybe Dell will give them away with certain Puter deals? My daughter bought my grandson a new Macbook up at the university last fall and it came with a iPod Touch...
