Here is a video report on the desperate situation in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, where the city is described as being "on edge" as lack of food, water, and shelter are taking their toll on the people.
The streets are described as being the "roads of the dead" as bodies are everywhere, with not enough room in the cemeteries to bury them all. . . . (VIDEO)

My organization is asking for volunteers to deploy to that area. I feel safer in Iraq.

I don't blame you. No amount of help well be enough, fast enough to prevent a terrible human tragedy - far worse than currently exists.
The big cloud is disease....cholera is likely. Too many dead in unreachable spots, and laying in the open in 90deg heat, close to a weakened, underfed population.
It's a prescription for tragedy beyond imagination.

Quark from Deep Space Nine: Let me tell you something about humans, nephew. They're a wonderful, friendly people as long as their bellies are full and their holosuites are working. But take away their creature comforts, deprive them of food, sleep, sonic showers, put their lives in jeopardy over an extended period of time and those same friendly, intelligent, wonderful people become as nasty and as violent as the most blood thirsty Klingon.
