Joe Kennedy Cryptic Message on Facebook- is he throwing in the towel? (Vanity)
Facebook ^

Posted on 01/14/2010 9:12:16 PM PST by mnehring

Joe Kennedy this evening posted a very cryptic message on his Facebook page indicating that he can't officially take his name off the ballot but it seems he is at least actively or mentally dropping out of the race.

Joe Kennedy For Senate Simply Put: 1. My name can not be removed from the ballot - 12/11/09 was the deadline. 2. I only have one vote to give and that is my own. 3. I have not and will not ask anyone to do anything but vote who they want to vote for. If you people to vote for your candidate you have 2 choices. Make your candidate someone who... they would want to vote for or find another candidate.

Contrast the comments on Coakley’s, Brown’s and Kennedy’s facebook pages.

Kennedy as you pointed out, has some strange birds.
Coakley’s page is full real negative nillys blaming the radical right wing and Bush for all their problems.
Brown’s page is like a pep-rally with people fired up and excited.

You can go find a chat room or Blog or any online place where there are people concerned about Gay Rights. No one who cares about Gay Rights is voting for Scott Brown.... No one. You can tell them, if you want to vote for someone who will fight harder than anyone for Gay rights - Vote for Joe Kennedy... You will be informing voters and taking away votes from the Coakley campaign that Brown would never get. You can do the same with people who want to end the War. Go into the Chat room or write in the comments on a Blog... No one wants to bring home the troops more than Joe Kennedy.... You will be informing voters of the truth and taking voters from Coakley that Brown would never get.

That is at least constructive. Sitting on my Fan page and trying to make your point is useless and a waste of all our time. If you want to win and you want my help, take Coakley voters that you could never win and bring them to me.

(DO you get a good sense about the Tues. Brown turnout?)

Oh yeah to answer your question.Absolutley.I’ve also hade people say.”Yes I’m voting for Brown and I’m a democrat!” in an almost defiant manner.

Anything you read from up here is real. They love Scott he has a real F-U attitude toward the “machine” dem or pub.
And he has a real provincial attitude like most people here. He is our Sarah. He has gotten people to rally around him.(He is ours! Don’t F with him!) Type of thing.
Thats the feeling I get anyway.

The Coakley strategy which was developed probably back in December sometime, or before (even though she didn’t get the nomination till December) had this a very low profile race with a very poorly funded Brown. Coakley did want Kennedy to be a high profile candidate, as high profile as could be, Coakley was to win just because she was a Dem, and Brown and Kennedy were the other choices.

Coakley’s Kennedy strategy didn’t work. Kennedy is doing very poorly. He’s at 3% in the polls. That 3% in the polls is likely more from Brown than Coakley.

But 0% of the people polled are going to say “I am likely to be confused when I see Joe Kennedy on the ballot and vote for him.”

Put differently - the people who will vote for Joe Kennedy when they see his name on the ballot are not being counted in the polls.

If Joe Kennedy drops out of the race, it will have no effect on the people who aren’t being measured in the polls, those who will end up voting for Joe Kennedy.

Send him some money and talk him up in left-wing precincts. Ask teh lefties to do what they’ve always done — vote Kennedy for Senate.

Somebody should follow Kennedy’s advic there — in letters to teh editor (emailed), in blogs and chat rooms, and on Coakley’s FB page.

“You can tell them, if you want to vote for someone who will fight harder than anyone for Gay rights - Vote for Joe Kennedy...No one wants to bring home the troops more than Joe Kennedy.”

That’s a reasonable argument. That’s something that Joe Kennedy himself wrote on his own facebook page?

It’s rambling and somewhat incoherent, but he’s spot on with his analysis and advice.

If you’re a Brown supporter, you can go tell Coakley supporters that Joe Kennedy would be better for Gay Rights.

If you’re a Brown supporter, you can go tell Coakley supporters that Joe Kennedy would be better to end the wars.

Maybe Joe Kennedy will give Brown supporters his signs. Kennedy has no volunteers to put signs up on election day.

Go tell Democrats that Joe Kennedy exists with Joe Kennedy signs. There are physical places in MA where almost everyone is a Democrat.

Cambridge, MA.

And I don’t believe that Joe Kennedy really wants, himself, to work to win votes away from Coakley. But he did tell you how to do it.

Would Joe Kennedy email someone a hires JPG of his campaign sign?

Joe Kennedy would not spend the money he was given the way we would want him to.

Wonder if Obama called him and told him to drop out. Seems like his voters are likely to go to Coakley.

Not to worry. The 'tards who will vote for Kennedy are hardly likely to notice he dropped out. The Democrat Party has to have its lower percentiles, you know.

Therefore taking chips of the Croakley vote block.

I went to college in South Hadley (yes, that bastion of liberalism) and always feared the Massachusetts college vote. Do you think that the Dems have gotten those kids registered to do a last minute rush?

Coakley should resign. She is not living up to her obligation to serve as AG.

If she is in it to win it, resign and work full time for the election.
