2010 Census
MsLady | Jan. 16, 2010 | MsLady

We haven't received our census questionnaire yet. But, my poor mother did. She lives in another state. She old and become rather frail and it takes her time to do things. When I spoke to her today, she said she spent all day filling it out. I told her, I know for a fact that all of those questions are illegal for them to ask except how many individuals live in your house. Is there any other questions that we are suppose to answer but, that one?

Why did it take her all day?

Q: "How many people live here?"
A: "One" (or other number)

The census is now completed.

It sounds like she got the ongoing American Survey Form, which asks all the intrusive and illegal questions. Tell her to ignore it.

The 2010 Census forms will go out in March sometime and should only have 10 questions. There is no long and short form this year.

The only reply coming from the Big Truck household is “5”. No race, no income, no age. If the census takers can’t/don’t/won’t accept “5”, then the next answer is “get off of my property.” Unless they can show me in the constitution where I am required to furnish more information, they will be S.O.L.

I was thinking of just not responding to the census. But lying on it sounds like a lot more fun. I just don't want some Fed coming knocking on my door for “the Truth”.

The most important thing that they need, and the one that they’re truly interested in, is how many people live in the residence.

Are you sure that is how it unfolds? I know somebody who has received two copies of the ACS but does not plan to complete it.

As reflected in the last sentence...it is against my religion to answer any question not related to number of people in household.....after all...I just found out that financial institutions are having to allow sharia compliant finance “rules”. I am going to say I refuse based on the first ammendment...it violates my right to the pursuit of happiness and my right to liberty.

(a) Whoever, being over eighteen years of age, refuses or willfully neglects, when requested by the Secretary, or by any other authorized officer or employee of the Department of Commerce or bureau or agency thereof acting under the instructions of the Secretary or authorized officer, to answer, to the best of his knowledge, any of the questions on any schedule submitted to him in connection with any census or survey provided for by subchapters I, II, IV, and V of chapter 5 of this title, applying to himself or to the family to which he belongs or is related, or to the farm or farms of which he or his family is the occupant, shall be fined not more than $100.
(b) Whoever, when answering questions described in subsection (a) of this section, and under the conditions or circumstances described in such subsection, willfully gives any answer that is false, shall be fined not more than $500.
(c) Notwithstanding any other provision of this title, no person shall be compelled to disclose information relative to his religious beliefs or to membership in a religious body.

That Survey Form included many questions that needed data from the Tax Form 1040. It looked like a way for parts of the government to get around any IRS confidentiality rules.

There is only 10 questions on the form this year. Check a few boxes basically and that’s it. Click the following to see them.

If this is all the questions on this years census, then there’s really nothing “unconstitutional” about it. The 2000 form was much more in-depth and asked intrusive questions about income, etc. This form is much like the census forms filled out by my parents and grandparents decades ago. IF, that is, this is really the actual census form that will be mailed. We’ll see.

“I would except I don’t think I could stand living like they do....lol Then on the other hand......”

I was with Amish friends today in Holmes County, Ohio - believe me, they live well! Sometimes you can even see them using their cell phones - in their buggies.

Maybe we should all say we’re considering converting to “Amish”, since they won’t be required to buy health insurance.

HA! I love it!!

I'm answering question 1, "How many people were living or staying in this house, apartment or mobile home as of April 10, 2010?" as being 20. Let them prove there weren't 20 people here on that day!

Question 2 "Were there any additional people staying here that you did not include in question 1?" as being "Relatives, such as adult children, cousins or inlaws."

Think about the purpose of question two here ..... "Did you forget anyone living in your house?" WHO THE HELL FORGETS SOMEONE IS LIVING IN THEIR HOUSE?!

Question 3 I'm going to answer as my house being a "mobile home."

I dare the bastards to come and check. I think we should all lie to the government. What the hell, they've been lying to us!

I don’t think they’re supposed to be mailed out yet. Make sure the forms are legitimate and not some snail mail phishing scheme.

Just give them the count in your household. I am curious as to how many people respond to the 2020 census. This should give the country a good count onto how many abortions took place during the last 10 years. Did we wipe out a whole decade of black & mexican babies? How does that affect our welfare program? How much money did we save this country by not having to support all those babies? I hate to see how much the aids problem has spread by making abortion affordable with the taxpayers picking up the bill. Why hasn’t the Democratic party addressed this yet?

Yes, they were pestering her about it. I think she got as far as the second letter. My mother is old and frail. I think it’s plan wrong, but, if they are going to do something like that they need to take into account some people are just not well enough. My mother has problems with just day to day living, much less having to put up with this type of nonsense. It really made me mad. I wished I lived closer to her :(
