There's a lot of anxiety at the White House. People who usually greet me with a smile don't even seem to notice me. I have to keep a careful eye on humans or they're likely to trip over me.
The grumpiest people are those closest to Master, including David Axelrod, Valerie Jarrett and Robert Gibbs. All three of them usually can't keep their hands off me, but now they're as likely to kick me if I get in their way.
As far as I can tell it's all because of some kind of big election going on in Massachusetts tomorrow. I know it's not the end of the world, but they're acting like it is. Yesterday, Master took an impromptu trip up there to say a few words about his preferred candidate, Martha Coakley. I've never met her but I like her short hair.
From what I can tell, elections are fun. And kind of contagious. I'm thinking of running for the big enchilada of the South Lawn animal kingdom. I'm still kind of new at understanding outdoor politics, but there's a definite hierarchy among the squirrels, rats and all the birds that keep their distance from me. I'm already kind of the leader because of my size and the fact that I live inside the White House. That makes me special.
Some of the squirrels don't give me the respect I deserve. They stand cowardly on low branches and throw nuts and twigs at me. One of them called me a baby. I'm young, I know, but that kind of taunting isn't called for. I'm getting more and more experience every day. Grrr...
Let us help you understand what's going on in Master's House.
