What a tragedy. RIP Jenn. May your story save another life.

Ethan Zohn is fighting for his life, too :(

May she rest in peace. It is surprising that she is the first to die out of that sampling of people (Survivor contestants). They must indeed be a hearty bunch. Perhaps her family can honor her memory by exposing the proven link between oral contraception, abortion, and breast cancer. So many women are unaware of this, and so much pain could be prevented if women were better informed.

My next door neighbor, also 38, passed away this past fall from breast cancer. Last winter she had to undergo chemo and radiation because her cancer had come back for the third time. She was such a strong beautiful person that I had no doubt that she would beat it again. It was not to be. Some people on FR complain about all the pink ribbon campaigns. Thank God there are people willing to donate their money and time to fight this terrible disease.

Never heard of her. Oh, yeah, I've never seen the show.

Sad all the same.

RIP

Not to make a political point out of a tragic death, but how does this woman dying of breast cancer at 37 jibe with the US Preventive Services Task Force recommendation that mammograms should only be used for women over the age of 50?

It is a sad situation where the actions of the government force us to insert politics into personal tragedy, but the current situation forces us to do so. This case should serve as an example that top-down one-size-fits-all mandates by the federal government make no sense, and that the US Preventive Services Task Force (Which is certainly not a Death Panel. Oh no!) should not be given the power to decide these things for us all.

I am one of the people who complain about the pink ribbon campaign, but not because I don’t care about breast cancer. It’s because Susan J. Komen and other “pink ribbon” organizations refuse to inform women that abortion is a risk factor for breast cancer. Also Susan J. Komen donates to Planned Parenthood, which is like The American Lung Association donating to Marlboro. Recently the National Cancer Institute finally admitted that the abortion-breast cancer link exists, so perhaps some of these other organizations will start telling women the truth and stop donating to the abortion mills.

Survior Africa winner Ethan Zohn has been battling Hodgkins and cancer recurred in Sep - last I heard they were considering experimental stem cell therapy :-(

Survivor winner Jen Morasceau has stayed at his side - remember she lost her Mom to breast cancer while she was filming and stayed on the show with the encouragement of fellow cast members

Not only women but men also can get breast cancer. Age is not a factor at all in getting this horrible disease.

RIP Jenn.

Actually Jen left the show. It was a reunion season and she opted out and made it to her mom’s side days before she died.

<><><><><><

Just a guess, but I think because this is FreeRepublic, and there are some here who are unable to see any event except through their political lens.

On a staunchly prolife site, such as this, breast cancer = abortion = culture of death = liberal politics.

Again, just guessing.

This points out the desirability of doing breast cancer screenings at an early age.

Under ObamaCare guidelines, breast cancer screening for women under 50 would have been denied coverage.

It is surprising that she is the first to die out of that sampling of people (Survivor contestants). They must indeed be a hearty bunch.

9 years, 19 seasons, they have at least one geezer over 50 each time, actuary figures would say at least a couple should be gone by now.

Survivor 1's Rudy Boesch is 82, Today! (Thank you Wikipedia!)
