The GLOCK 22 Gen4 in .40 caliber and GLOCK 17 Gen4 (Generation 4) in 9x19 are featured in the #14049 GLOCK booth this week. The new Gen4 has several new features designed to satisfy the most demanding consumers.
Most noticeably, the Gen4 design has a multiple backstrap system that allows the user to change the circumference of the grip to fit their individual hand size. The grip has three options; a short frame version, medium frame or large frame that are easily changed and secured with a single pin.
The magazine release catch of the Gen4 is reversible and enlarged. The reversible magazine catch allow users to switch access of the catch to the left or right side of the pistol with no additional parts.
Internally, the original recoil spring has been replaced with a dual recoil spring assembly. The dual recoil spring assembly noticeably reduces the recoil while simultaneously increasing the life cycle of the pistol.
Additionally, the Gen4 has a new Rough Textured Frame (RTF) surface designed to enhance grip traction and is present on the frame as well as the interchangeable backstraps.
During recent grueling endurance testing and at the SWAT Round Up International competition, several police agencies had a chance to handle and shoot the new pistols and many positive comments were made about the design changes. Gary Fletcher, Vice President at GLOCK, Inc. mentioned that "GLOCK, Inc.'s dedication to perfection has made GLOCK the chosen firearm for many Law Enforcement agencies around the world. The Gen4 is just another step in GLOCK, Inc.'s commitment to producing the best firearm for Law Enforcement, Military, Federal Law Enforcement/Military and the law abiding citizen."
The Gen4, just like any GLOCK pistol, has the same time tested "Safe Action" system, durable exterior finish, cold hammer forged barrel, durability, reliability and light weight that make GLOCK firearms famous. All GLOCK pistols are backed by the GLOCK Limited Lifetime Warranty and world-class customer service and support that is second to none in the firearms industry.

Must be a slow mover as my weatherguesser saying mid week for us with snow and freezing rain only for now. Maybe going north of us ! I hope !
I think S&W is happy with all the PD’s that are switching over!
By the time it’s done here, there might not be anything left.
Mrs Slim still has her snow shovel and you have beer right ?
Nooo problems !......;o)
Now we’re getting thunder snow.
I bet if I started sharpening my skinning knife, the dogs would hid under the bed.
Funny ya say that .....that is what I am doing now. Sharpening knives........LOL !
Looks like worst is 337/14 south near 55........throw another log in the stove and fire up the crock pot !
Call it a day ....:o)
Crock pot? Think I’m an old hippie? I dug out the grill!
Love my Glocks-but gotta admit-the grip angle of the XD is better-closer to the 1911 natural point. The XD Trigger is also better than the Glock. Smoother and feels lighter.
Both good weapons
Hippies use crock pots ?!?!?
Pintos in the crock pot and cornbread in the oven is my favorite cold weather meal ??
I practice the fine art of point shooting. Have done such for decades and it works for me. Your right the 1911A1 is perfection personified for that skill. Yet as stated .....my carry a lot and shoot a little CHL duty version is the glock or a 1911A1 Meltdown from Clark. I like my comfort, reliability and quality in my old age !
As stated to Travis......I just haven’t come across a XD to try yet. I will !
Sure it is a good rig based on the comments here and from others I know that own one !
Stay safe !
And Travis is right about the tactile safety devices. In pitch blackness I can tell if the pistol has a round chamberd and whether or not it's cocked. Neat features IMO. Being able to lengthen or shorten the grip length by just changing mags is a slick piece of engineering, too.

Sounds good... let’s say we trade recipes. I’ll give you mine for crock pot hash brownies. ;)
Understand
So many guns only so much time and money :)
I have the same affliction
Sounds like something I would have tried making back in about '77. LOL
The last time we had an extended power outage here I tried making browines (no hash) on the propane grill. I managed to produce some chocolate scented charcoal briquets.
Get yourself a cast iron dutch oven and try again. That or Coleman does make a nifty little oven for those stoves.
They're handy to have for extended power outages. You can actually bake things on one of them Colemans.
I’ll just eat chips.
Keepin my glock and 1911’s and SIG’s !!
........:o)
That's the beauty of a vibrant gun industry my friend. Something for everyone!
Did I tell you I've put a bunch of Wilson parts on my Commander? That boy knows his way around a 1911, that's for sure.
Got a three gun coming up. Guess which pistola I'm taking? Yep, John Brownings finest!
