I don’t disagree completely. Yes, the aura is gone. Yes, his character is clearly not what people thought, but he is still a tremendous golfer. It will be interesting to see what happens on his return.

Tiger disgraced golf and when will the PGA check him for steroids and HGH use. The PGA is not supposed to be the NFL or NBA or even MBL.

I used to like Mel but he is just another adulterer and drunk.

Christians should place more emphasis on repentence. That's the key thing. That's the importance thing. Whether forgiveness will come along if really a secondary issue.

You don't repent because you seek forgiveness.
You repent because you really know that you did something wrong and really do repent. Full Stop.

If Mel wants to express his personal forgiveness, that's all well and good, but he ought to spend more time discussing the vital role that true repentence must play for Tiger Woods' future.

The pleasure of watching a great golfer really pales in comparison with the more important issues here.

So Mel’s biggest concern about the whole issue is whether he gets to see Tiger play golf. Mel (beginning with his arrest) is revealing himself to be a much different individual than we thought just a few short years ago.

Stuff your slander and moral damnation. A thousand Tigers and Mels would be better than the unforgiving poison you're spewing. May God hold you alone to the merciless, contemptuously arrogant standard you sneer out for the rest of the world, and spare us all from your hypocritical spit.

Cathy,

If he’d beaten his wife, I would never want to see him again. I think he acted foolishly and callously towards his wife, but many rich and famous men have done far worse. I don’t admire his catting around but I can overlook it.

I don’t watch golf on TV, but I did occassionally when Tiger played. And he was exciting to watch.

Sounds like someone who is resentful about his own treatment and feels for somebody else who is “getting it.” I can relate to a certain extent too, but he shouldn’t count on getting his hundred mill per in endorsements back again. I spect that kind of money is gone forever. And if he IS juicing, which I’m pretty sure he is, or was, that’s a deal killer, Ladies. Shut’it down.

Braveheart is a movie. Gibson is an actor. He played the lead role in the movie. The character in the movie is not Mel Gibson the man.

I like The Lord of the Rings. I liked the part, Strider, that Viggo Mortensen played. But in real life Viggo is a POS.

Hey, you're only down & out if you decide to stay there - even John Daly is making a come back. In case you're not familiar with John Daly's path, just run a general browser image search - that dude is lucky to be above ground! Plus, Tiger's chasing some historical records, he's not out for long - his competitive drive won't let him.

Poor Daly is a tragedy. Even Tiger said that Daly may have been one of the most gifted golfers of a generation. So many mental demons. He is finally getting his life together. He just needs to cut out the diet cokes and smoking. He looks great in that red shirt. The gastric bypass helped him lose a lot of weight.

I saw a picture of Mickelson from a few days ago. He was chubby in 2008 and slimmed down in 2009. He looks even better for 2010.

Last year at major tourneys, Mickelson shot lower scores than Tiger while he took a month or so off to take care of his wife. Phil almost won the Masters and U.S. Open. He beat Tiger like a drum at the last tourney in Shanghai and won the tourney. Tiger put two shots in the water in the last 3 holes.

Really, don’t tell me there is no Santa Claus. Stop talking to me like I am a child, I was merely talking about him being not only a hunk in the movie - but still with his wife at that point in his life and appeared to have it all under control. That was 15 years ago.

Sadly, Mel Gibson has demons and as he gets older they appear to be taking their toll. I can see where he would feel a kinship to another celebrity under the microscope but both men are flawed and will have to live with the consequences of their actions. Too bad for them.

“But I don’t understand why people fall in love with movie stars.”

I didn’t say love, but Gibson is a good looking man and the roles he played in Braveheart and The Patriot (in particular) were great. Mad Max, excellent movie! Same with James Garner - first saw “The Great Escape” when I was 12 and have been smitten ever since. I can seperate the person from the movie role.

I don’t think I am the only woman that finds leading men attractive.

You and I must meet! I just don’t understand this adoration crap with hollywood celebrities. For one thing the money they donate to people like Obama Kerry Clinton comes from the success of their movies songs etc. Hollywood has no connection to the everyday American people. The other night I saw the Morgans at a friends house well that was the pure example of the coast people and the everyday Americans. The Morgans from New York spent most of the movie making fun of republicans people who have guns the way they eat and live. Mel Gibson is an actor, he pretends for a living and apparently he pretended being married to his wife for a long time.

I think you got to the heart of the matter. Hollywood is place where people pretend to be somebody they aren't. And then they go on pretending even when they aren't on a movie set, but pretending in order to fool people.
