Is it just me, or have FR's servers had a real tough week?

Servers no workee - that’s a technical term.
Tough is a rather mild characterization.

I’m in Des Moines, Iowa, on Qwest DSL and FR has been very slow or unavailable to me off and on recently.
It has been very bad these past few days.
Northern California has had super high wind and rain over the past 2 weeks. I think conditions in central California —where Jim Thomson lives— have been equally series.
It’s hugh. Series even. Worse than when the moose bit my sister - but, if you go take a shower and come back after a while, all will be well, but only if you’re logged on.
It works fine for me. Except when the server is down, of course.
It’s a bolshevik plot.
They keep messing with their tables and thus we get 502’s.
Very annoying and I know of no other site that has as many problems as FR.

Really? Name some other forums with the same amount of traffic that owns their own servers.

I still can’t post anything.
And it is a ballovic plot.
Here is mine and the error they are experiencing is a table issue or gateway problems preventing access or slowing access to their servers.
I don’t know why they would change the table or routing but, I can clearly reach them with no issues so FR is doing something to their layer 2.

You know, I just went and took a shower, logged in, and what do you know? I can now get in except of course when the server is down. Which is quite often the last few days. Other than that, well, there was that time when all our base belonged to someone, can’t remember who, but no problemo.

It’s not a DoS issue or even layer 3 issue. It is clearly a layer 2 as I can reach their gateway lickity split when I ping or tracert.
I think John Thompson fell asleep again.
I think he got his old job back, at the Post Office. Oh well.
I know of no other site like FR period. What are you comparing FR to?

It’s not just you...I’ve had fits trying to even get here.
FIREFOX keeps telling me to “reset the connection.”
IE just now told me that I “cannot connect to this page.”
I had thought I was having problems with FF, but evidently not.

Do they own their own servers and is their traffic rate comparable to FR? Are they a forum?

BTW. I am not Stumping for that website, Im a FReepaholic, but went FR goes down I get a fix over there.
I dont know what their hardware situation is but yes, it is a news forum.

A lot of the forums rent space. Few have their own servers. Having our own servers means we can say what we like and are truly free on FR.
I only mentioned it as a place similar to FR to get news and commentary with conservative folks.

FR gets a LOT of traffic and is also attacked by the left. There are alternate sites to go to that get actual news about what’s happening when we’re down rather than inferring something dishonest.
