Also, are the other browsers besides IE safer?

Firefox is excellent. You can also get rid of Adobe. Foxit is faster and better PDF reader.

What operating system are you using? In Vista, most stuff sucks.

IE is the preferred browser of hackers and virus planters because of percentage of use and knowledge base.

I’ve been using Firefox for more than a year and have not had any problems.

Guess I’m an IE luddite. I have Firefox and Google chrome on the computer but stick with what I know best.

I like Firefox, although lately, it seems to crash more than it used to. I also have Opera and I’m really liking it.

Firefox is more user friendly and has less “issues”, IMO

Firefox is great, and customizable. But it’s a bit of a memory hog; I run 3gigs DDR2.

I use them both at the same time. IE is slower and locks up.

First off, DUMP WINDOWS, Install Linux, I prefer Ubuntu. Never ever use IE, only use Mozilla Firefox, Use Mozilla Thunderbird for Email also, 95% to 100% of all your Computer problems will disappear immediately. If you absolutely have to use winblows then install Virtual Box (free) and then only use winblows for the programs you absolutely have to use it for. You will not be Disappointed.

FRiend, I’ve been running Firefox for years, and trust it. Although, some of the other posters are correct; newer versions are using more memory, and are crashing more often...still, it beats IE by a ton. Also, take a look at Opera and Google Chrome. I don’t trust google, so I don’t use it but I have many friends who do and like it.

I love Firefox, especially the addons like Noscript and Adblock.

I can block all the annoying ads that flash and distract and take time loading.
