Democrats for the Saints, Republicans for the Colts
Public Policy Polling ^ | February 4, 2010 | Tom Jensen

Americans are so polarized right now, even the Super Bowl's dividing them along party lines.

Overall 32% of voters we polled on our last national survey said they'd be rooting for the New Orleans Saints this Sunday, with 22% going for the Indianapolis Colts and 46% expressing no preference.

There's a significant partisan divide within those numbers, as Democrats prefer the Saints by a 36-21 margin while Republicans say they want the Colts to be victorious by a closer 26-25 spread. Independents lean toward the Saints as well, 33-20.

Beyond the partisan divide it's also interesting to note that a plurality of voters don't care about who wins the game. It will still pile up huge ratings Sunday night but that finding just quantifies the fact that for many watching the Super Bowl is more about the spectacle than what happens on the field.

Was this poll conducted by a Viking fan?

What about the Limbaugh environmentalist whacko pick.

Who are the Saints? The are part of the Catholic Church, who exploited the indigenous peoples of the Americas and stole their gold, while Colts are horses, which are noble animals, wild and free, until evil man used them as cavalry in wars against their peaceful nature.

LOL - the computers at What If Sports say it will not be the Colts, especially if it rains.

Live outside of Indianapolis so I’m for the Colts. One of my former high school players, Sedrick Ellis, plays for Saints. A very nice and very respectful player.

I think the Saints are going to have trouble against the Colts, Freeney or not. The Colts defense is playing very well right now and NO needed a lot of help (from Vikings and refs) to even make it to the Super Bowl.

Odd. Jim Irsay is a lib. I want the Colts to win because I live in Indy.

I did not want NO to win because I knew the MSM would turn this into the Katrina Bowl.

Sure enough, that is what they are doing.

nuff said....GO COLTS!!!!!!!!!

"The war memorials in downtown Indianapolis are awesome."

As is the National WWII Museum in New Orleans.

Hey the NFL says you can't say that without a licence fee to them!/s

How in the heck can the NFL claim they own that? Do the own the Aints paper bags we were putting over our heads for years also?

I hope & pray that the Colts & Peyton Manning literally CRUSH the New Orleans Katrina Saints and their thug defense who go out of their way to hurt the opposing players. I hope the Colts do the same to the Saints.

Plus we need two countries now.... it is impossible to reconcile socialism-communism-secular humanism with patriotic, God-fearing or at least God-honoring conservatives & free market advocates. Give the frikkin liberals 1/2 and we take the other 1/2. I will guarantee you that not a single liberal would want to live in their half, because they know intuitively that socialism doesn’t work and has never worked.

Seeing as how these two teams were handpicked by the NFL to be in this year’s SB, I could care less.

Believe me, if there was a way the NFL could have gotten a Favre vs Manning SB they would have done it.
