Roger Whittaker...
Elvis Presly..THE king ( I really enjoyed that "bodyguard" movie)
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan..Haunting
Stevie Wonder..Nuff said
Ray Charles...More Nuff said

While the Female singing voice is my favorite, Duncan Sheik is someone with an incredible voice.

The Wilsons...Jackie Wilson and The Wicked Wilson Pickett.
No list is legitimate without Roy Orbison.
David Bowie was a performer not a singer.
I don’t see any Jazz in there. Chet Baker.

Although they are probably more closely associated with their respective groups, both David Gilmour and Mark Knopfler have some incredible solo stuff.

Josh Groban has to be on that list. He honestly has among the best voices I’ve ever heard. I’d put Harry Connick Jr. on there, too.
I like Toby Keith and Brad Paisley a lot ... but I won’t pretend they’re even in the ballpark.

Forget Roger Whitaker. He was the creation of a company similar to K-tel to sell albums on TV.
I think WGN in Chicago was the only station I knew that played his stuff.

I would rather listen to - and I will get flamed for it - Cat Stevens work versus Leonard Cohen. A lot of it was lefty crap and he has beccome a hard core Muslim but some of the songs were quite good. So weird because I think he was born a Christian Cypriot? He totally lost the plot.

A list which omits Bing Crosby was obviously made up by a baby boomer.

“You are sooooo right. This guy was stars above Presley!!!”
I heard someone slam him once because his voice was “too operatic for rock and roll” and thought I would laugh my ass off...the sweetest duet ever was that version of Crying” he did with kd lang, too...but is there a more classic song than “Pretty Woman?” The version on Black and White Night is really great;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uw0fngpM2GY
The solos half way through are unbelievable, a wholle other thread on rock and roll films like this and Last Waltz; but the song is a classic.
