TV's "Deadliest Catch" captain Phil Harris dies

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Tough fishing boat captain Phil Harris, whose brave exploits in the wild waters off the Alaskan coast were captured on the popular television show "Deadliest Catch," has died, family members said. He was 53.

With all his health issues I am not surprised. I will bet that the cause of this death is directly linked to that nasty clot he had in his lungs a couple of years ago.

Massive stroke. You can get more details in the announcements from yesterday and earlier today. Discovery has a note from his sons.

A steady diet of stress, coffee, Red Bull and cigarettes could not have helped, either. Nevertheless and whatever his faults, Capt Phil was a real man among men. The world’s less for his loss..

His smoking and apparent lack of fitness made this outcome pretty obvious.

Too bad.
