Coast Guard budget cuts

I just read an article on Huff Po (Save the Coasties) that their budget is getting cut and they will ahve to cut staff. (I could'nt post the link).
My daughter says her DH was told about this and the guys that want to re-up might not be able to.
But Acorn gets $4 Billion?

Exactly right. But the USGC’s numbers have been largely static and they've assumed so many new duties.

The budgeteers are counting on the Auxiliary to step up to the plate again and help cover the shortage. However, even volunteers who love the job might not want to do it as a parttime job.
