Time for Obama to go 'gangsta' on GOP (Barf Alert)
CNN ^ | 2/10/2010 | Roland Martin

Civil rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer made famous the phrase, "I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired."

For me, I'm sick and tired of Democrats having power and being unwilling to use it. I've always respected Republicans when they had power because they were willing to use it and maybe apologize later.

Today, President Obama walked into the White House briefing room and took some questions, and one of them revolved around recess appointments.

He has watched Republicans block many of his appointments, and now he says he made it clear to them that he will "consider" making some when the U.S. Senate goes into recess.

What's next? Is Obama going to be wearing big gold chains, pants below his boxer shorts and sport some 9 mm glocks?

How is the GOP holding up anything in Washington?. They have no power to do so even if they are unanimous in opposition. Blame the DEMS for any and all legislation and appointments that are not getting done. How stupid can some people be?

If a Republican said this, it would be racist and inciting violence.

As President Obama continues his flame out, I predict more progressive political commentators to ‘advise’ Obama on grabbing more power to ‘promote the common good’ and protect the nation from the non-believing racists.

Ironically, it was not a Republican who blocked the Becker nomination, but none other than Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Nebraska).

Recess appointments are a constitutional fact and the President is within his rights to make them. However, his own words may come back to haunt him. As Obama opposed the appointment of John Bolton as US Ambassador to the UN (the best one we've had since Jane Kirkpatrick), he called Bolton "damaged goods" and talked about the US losing credibility. I guess Obama isn't worried, since he already has lost all credibility.

Has anyone in the administration considered that the Republicans are obstructing the Obama agenda because it appears that the American people want them to? More people oppose Obama than support him - that's reason enough to oppose him.

“Western thinking has become conservative:
the world situation should stay as it is at any cost;
there should be no changes. ....
The communist regime in the East could stand and grow due to the enthusiastic support
from an enormous number of Western intellectuals who felt a kinship and refused to see
communism's crimes. And when they no longer could do so, they tried to justify them. In
our Eastern countries, communism has suffered a complete ideological defeat; it is zero
and less than zero. But Western intellectuals still look at it with interest and with
empathy, and this is precisely what makes it so immensely difficult for the West to
withstand the East.”

I've always respected Republicans when they had power because they were willing to use it and maybe apologize later.

I remember Republican's entertaining a "power sharing" agreement, the Gang of Fourteen, and other quisling ideas but hardly an example of using power like this author intimates.

He has no "gangsta" background.

I submit that his disturbing, anti-American childhood (and adult life, frankly) leans more toward "jihadi" than "gangsta".

No, this particular idiot is on CNN as a commentator. I think you may be referring to Mark Lamont Hill.

So, it is still the Republicans fault that he couldn't get a super majority to do what he wanted. I would love it if he went all gangsta on them. It would separate the “men from the boys:women from the girls” and show us who to vote FOR in the next election. Bring it on!

When I read articles like this, it reminds me that there is simply no way conservatives can communicate with a person like this.

His article shows a complete lack of understanding of the legislative process and the role the President plays in such a process. It also shows just how ignorant he is of democratic process that we cherish and how it has helped us build the greatest country on earth.

What he is advocating is a system similar to any other socialist dictator. How very sad this makes me because he will only respond to force because he is criminally stupid.

That’s fine. Maybe I’ll go Highlander(I don’t mean the movie, although that works too) on him. Or maybe I’ll go King Leonidas on him. Or maybe I’ll go Charlemagne on him. Or maybe I’ll let out a Rebel Yell and go First Manassas on him. Or maybe I’ll just go American hero on Omaha Beach on him.

I have any number of ancestors to pick from. They don’t “go ghetto,” they go to war. So please, get in our faces.
