Still, all-Danica-all-the-time clearly has a rankling effect. You hear plenty of jokes this week about his DIS now stands for Danica International Speedway, or how the television network airing the Nationwide event should be renamed DSPN, or how the city should just change its name to Danica Beach. When Kurt Busch appeared in the media center on Friday, one writer asked if the interview session would be transcribed. "If Danica were here, it would be transcribed," Busch quipped. And via Twitter, there was this snarky broadside from Scott Speed: "According to the 'media' not only is Danica the most amazing racing driver since Dale [Earnhardt] Sr. but she is also related to Jesus."

It’s unbecoming for drivers who are aleady on TV for 3 hours every weekend to whine that they aren’t getting enough attention. Danica’s move into stock cars is a human-interest story, they might as well accept that. Quit whining and drive, Kurt and Scott.
No, it isn't. It's just hype.
She was on CSI: NY last week too.
Where is Daisy Duke when you need her?
I used to watch NASCAR every week, until about 3 years ago when it just got boring. I have not watched a race since then, until yesterday. After Danica wrecked I switched channels. These whiners can cry all they want, but I’ll bet the ratings for her races are going to go through the roof.
This has worked so well to spike interest in NASCAR they are probably looking for gays and lesbians too! ;-)
But it’s cool when Junior pimps product, right. I mean, when he’s out there putting his mug on TV or wearing real man jeans he’s not playing sex symbol is he?
She did OK but she didn’t deserve any more attention than Christie Wallace or any other middle of the pack driver.
Now,she can pose on top of another type of race car.
I think the Danica Media Frenzy is ridiculous, but I also think the Junior Media Frenzy is ridiculous. Its like they forgot that there’s a race going on. Junior is not a good driver (compared to most Sprint Cup drivers), but if you only listen to the media, you’d think he was one championship away from beating his dad’s record. Danica-mania is here to stay—until NASCAR gets a black driver that they can pimp to the cameras.
Would someone please post a semi-nude of her so I can really consider her “qualifications”?
On Sat, a local radio station was chatting about Danica’s bi-sexuality that is beginning to surface. Perhaps her “husband” is just a beard?
I’m a Mark Martin fan. Greatest driver to never win a championship.
1. if Danica Patrick looked like Danny Bonaduce in drag, interest in her would be nonexistent.
2. she doesn't need to win a race, because this is a marketing game with some cars grafted on
3. should she choose to drive in lingerie, she can be the next President of the United States... and she won't need to spend a dime for advertising.
..a local radio station was chatting about Danica’s bi sexualiy....etc....

That should probably be placed in the WGARA FILE.
I would kind of think after 36 (or so) hours of wall to wall coverage one has to find a new subject as the rest of them have been beaten to death....
Even if true, she doesn’t exploit it so why should we care?
It is when they throw it in your face that I start to give a hoot.....
and maybe demand pictures and film as ‘proof’.
Oh geez, I hadn’t heard about this yet. Before we know it they will be trying to stuff Rosie ODonnell’s fat ass in a car too! She would need to drive a UPS truck. ;-)
Gives a whole new meaning to trading paint in NASCAR!
Ouch! Do it again.
Montoya was the media darling for 2 yrs.
The media thought he would come over to the ‘Cracker’ league and tear it up. Show the good ol’ boys how it’s done.
He did tear up a lot of other driver’s cars.
They sound like a bunch of jealous old bitties at the company BBQ.
The woman has talent, and she is unique. I don’t care for modern day nascar, yet I might just watch it now.
“This has worked so well to spike interest in NASCAR they are probably looking for gays and lesbians too! ;-)”
You mean all nascar drivers aren’t gay?
Gives new meaning to the term “bump drafting”
“I’ve hated NASCAR since the days when they penalized Mopars”
Bingo! Right there. I’m with ya’.
But, you also say...”she doesn’t need to win a race, because this is a marketing game with some cars grafted on”.
I say modern nascar is only about marketing, so what’s the difference?
I cannot stand Danica Patrick. A man with her driving ability would never be in her position. Anna Kournikova is smokin hot, and at least she never positioned herself as something shes not.

How about Danica Patrick? She gets all kinds of press and rarely, if ever, wins a race. Somewhat akin to that little hottie female tennis player a few years back who never won a tournament.
I Haven't heard that before. I would have thought Mike lived in or around Charlotte, NC.
They sound like a bunch of jealous old bitties “
Speaking as an old bittie, I hope she wrecks on the first lap so we can get back to actual racing.
Well if some are they have been pretty good about keeping it under the hood.
What? Not liking someone for their performance and only there looks?
Sound ehem familiar.
Yes, Danica probably will never be a good NASCAR driver. But the sport isn’t all about “good drivers”. Its america at its finest.
If you want actual racing, why would you watch nascar?
Mike and Meeks were on Fox and Friends this morning from Daytona.
Bah, it’s just over the top hype. She can drive, no one ever doubted that, but so what? So can all the other drivers. The media is a joke in NASCAR just as any other time. I never could stand her before so I sure will not now.
She drives like any broad in a Walmart parking lot but she sure polishes up nice!
We should have fines for people who ignore such rules;-)
