HUNTSVILLE, Ala.- Amy Bishop kept quiet about a violent episode in her past around colleagues and students at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. But there was one personal issue she didn't mind loudly complaining about: being denied tenure.
Still, those who knew her said the woman accused of shooting six colleagues had never suggested she might become violent. Everyone from family and friends to her students said the intelligent and at times awkward teacher seemed normal in the hours before police say she opened fire in a faculty meeting Friday afternoon, leaving three dead and three wounded.....

Typical academic attitude if carried a bit to extremes. They’re almost all parasites sucking on the taxpayers’ labor anyway.
What is it they say, facility lounge politics is so nasty because the stakes are so small. Not always, I suppose.
She does certainly seem to have "issues".
My wife had an uncle who was a biology professor at a non-prestige small college. A wonderful man, full of good cheer and warmth; I bet his first semester students learned more than most kids at prestige schools.
The whole prestige school/research paradigm distorts education and is a disservice to undergraduates.

The hairdo doesn’t help. Perhaps that’s why she didn’t make tenure; that and the shotgun death of her brother, armed robbery, stealing a car, bomb threats, triple murder... now she’ll likely never make tenure.
Anyone know the ages of her kids?
This, from the investigation after the pipe bomb incident, was interesting.....
“During a search of Bishop’s computer, authorities found a draft of a novel that Bishop was writing about a female scientist who had killed her brother and was hoping to make amends by becoming a great scientist, according to a person who was briefed on the investigation and spoke to the Globe on the condition of anonymity.”
Just think, had they done a thorough investigation in her brother’s death, the lives she took this time might have been saved.
She obviously has serious psychiatric dysfunction.

With a record like that I’m amazed Obama hasn’t appointed her as Tenure Czar yet.
