When Tiger Woods sits down in Florida Friday with "friends, colleagues and close associates," he won't really be there to make amends, as his agent suggested Wednesday.
Woods will be coming back to launch a new, 2010 version of Tiger Woods, the same as if he were launching this year's version of his video game.
Woods doesn't want to take questions, so he won't, because he's still Tiger Woods.
But all husbands caught cheating - just once - probably wish they could find this soft a place to land.
The agent, an overbearing and wildly overrated huckster named Mark Steinberg, also said Woods plans to apologize for his behavior.
I'm sorry, didn't he do that about 10 girlfriends ago?
If speaking this way is the best Woods can do, he should skip us and go directly to the golf course.
It is the only place where he has ever been fascinating, until the world found out he could be just as fascinating cheating on his wife.

Why would they suspend him? He’s the money-maker for the PGA.

A statement saying he apologizes to his fans, is more than enough, if I was advising him I would tell him to just as it appears he is going to do. He should conclude his statement by saying he is not going to address this ever again, its a family matter that will be kept private.
He doesn`t need to do any more than that!
I would also echo Brit Hume`s advice, that Tiger ask Jesus in to his life, oh ya and to vote for Sarah Palin!

Why does anyone care what he does off the golf course?
This has to be the biggest non story story going right now. This is what ESPN specializes in. Making a story out of nothing. He’s going to read a statement apologizing about things we already know about. He’s not going to take questions.
Don’t insult our intelligence. If you’re going to hold a press conference, answer the questions. If not, then go out and play golf. I don’t want to hear media conceived machinations of how you’ve changed!!

The expect them to act like Gentlemen. In fact to reinforce that they should create a Gentleman's Club. Attendance at the Gentleman's Club should be mandatory for all PGA members.

Fair question. Because the guy has made over a billion dollars by coming into your home and selling everything from cars, to credit cards, to apparel, to razors to business consulting services by saying "This this product, because I'm Tiger Woods". So, people are going to ask the question, "Who's Tiger Woods". When people find out that "Tiger Woods" is a philandering, hooker buying, low-life reprobate, they may regret buying what he endorsed previously, and hesitant to buy what he endorses in the future.
When you make a living telling people what good in their lives - or what should be - you've willingly stopped being a private person, and started being a public person. You're fair game. His marriage - the sham that it was - was part of carefully crafted public image designed by the people who manage his image. When that image is a poor representation of the actual man, the hypocrisy and dishonesty become a story. Tiger Woods sold an image to the public as him being a family man. That image was a phony, and people want their money back.
That's not a paparazzi photo. That's a portrait put out by the Tiger Woods' media machine to craft his image and increase his marketability. That photo is a lie. People don't like liars.

I don’t care whether he goes back to golf. I say that as someone who was a fan, but no longer. He can do whatever he wants, but I no longer respect him.
Now as it all comes crashing down, the media is fuming that they will not be allowed in Tiger's presence while the Great One reads his proclamation.
Once he gets back on the course and out of his comfort zone, the press is gonna eat him alive. He is proving that even after all this, he still thinks he is above everyone else.
Most Americans don’t appreciate BUMS posing as loving, humble fathers and husbands. Especially not when those people helped make the guy both wealthy and a folk hero. And MOST especially not when that bum plays golf—a GENTLEMAN’S game. Woods belongs in the NBA, not on a golf course.
Best to pose that question first to his wife and to his commercials endorsees.
