Construction ahead: Trees hauled from White House
Washington Post ^ | February 20, 2010 | Associated Press

WASHINGTON -- On an otherwise quiet Saturday at the White House, there was quite a sight along the driveway: the careful unearthing of two trees to make way for some construction underneath the front lawn.

People walking along Pennsylvania Avenue saw two enormous cranes stationed just outside the West Wing. One crane lifted away a sugar maple tree that had been planted by President Ronald Reagan in 1984. And then a large linden tree, planted by the National Park Service in 1979, was also hauled out of the ground.

The White House you see is actually just a thin shell over an enormous underground bunker that goes down at least 20 stories. Has been for some time. Think Cheyenne Mountain with frosting on top.

Nope, it's merely "O" creating more of those "shovel ready jobs!"

See, it's your "tax dollars at 'work.'"

The moving of the trees was scheduled for the weekend to limit the disruption of daily activities at the White House.

Make that to limit the media coverage after Friday at 5 pm. Just the Czar of Obots doing a bit of internet upgrading. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Obama has always dreamed of having his private septic tank and nobody can tell him otherwise, because he knows more than the engineers or owner of the construction firm.

Obama knows the man is out to get him, but now he’s the man and nobody can tell him otherwise. He’s just to smart for it. /s

My kid brought home papers to be vetted before joining the Corps, and if O-Resident had to fill these out - 4a. Do you now hold or have you EVER held multiple citizenship? - I believe he would have FAILED.

Anyway, the pictures of the tree’s rootball doesn’t look large enough to me after watching This Old House a couple of times. I bet they, oops, don’t make it.

I believe they have plans to install a wind turbine on the lawn.

Inside, there is already a windy turban, but it only produces an unstable form of power.

I had the same thought about the rootball, seems really shallow. In more ways than one.

Obama can “takeover” anytime he wants via the Executive Order. In the hands of this Marxist, that’s very scary.

I was watching a Glenn Beck program (from my DVR) last night, where Glenn showed some of the EO’s Kennedy had written because of the Cuban Missile Crisis. And they were pretty overwhelming in their takeover of the country, which I could see was Kennedy’s preparation in case Russia would take us to war - but years later, Nixon repealed them.

The Clinton WH bragged about all the timebombs they had left embedded within the EO’s. It’s my understanding that Bush had to appoint a special staff to go through all the EO’s Clinton had written and repeal all the “timebombs” they had left. The Clinton WH was confident that Bush was too stupid to find out. Again .. the left considers all repubs as stupid.

Heh, this reminds me of when Mr. T hit it big and bought a tudor mansion near Chicago. The whole neighborhood freaked out when Mr. T had all the beautiful trees surrounding the property cut down to stumps. Last I heard, Jennifer Aniston bought the house.

Or perhaps he is preparing for his Marxist revolution and takeover of government.

Ah, I wouldn't worry about any of that. The nation's founders had the foresight to nip that possibility in the bud. It's called the second amendment.

You betcha!

In the metro KC area, the tree huggers demand that local residents never touch a tree on their own property yet the dim controlled City parks & rec chop down whole city blocks to make way for something that was proposed by them.

Trees, they're "untouchable" when it's not a liberal's decision.
