NASA To Focus On Muslim Outreach
“NASAs new secret Muslim outreach mission was conveniently omitted though the head of the agency finally revealed it this week. NASA Administrator Charlie Bolden disclosed that Obama wants him to find ways to reach out to dominantly Muslim countries as part of the administrations efforts to make the space agency a tool of international diplomacy.
Bolden referred to the new mission as an effort to reach out to non-traditional partners, especially countries that dont have an established space program. Of special focus is Indonesia because its the worlds largest Muslim nation, Bolden explained. No word yet on how much money the U.S. government will invest in the Muslim outreach.”
Well? it had to be...

New Obama Logo/Islamic Crest DoD Patches?
From Facebook, another of my groups -g-
Getting picked up by blogger’s
Ran across this accidentally!
December 5, ((( 2003 )))
“Toward that goal, I am directing all MDA element program offices to discontinue use of existing logos and replace them with a standard, but tailorable, MDA logo. Additionally, [special] functional offices must discontinue use of unique logos and use the standard MDA logo.
“The new tailorable logo is circular and will feature the words ‘Missile Defense Agency’ around the top and the element name identification around the bottom. Elements may include a new or existing design in the logo’s center; however, text references to the element name cannot be included in the center design.”

Missile Defense Agency logo takes a cue from Obama campaign ‘08?
New Missile Defense Logo - Designed to Convey...What?
Put away the tinfoil hat, pick up the rose-colored glasses, and check out the spankin new logo sported by the Department of Defenses Missile Defense Agency.
Yes boys and girls, the Brother O campaign logo/Islamic crescent combo really is the new patch for the Missile Defense Agency. Go to the Agencys official Web site and see the glorious wonder for yourself.
Missile Defense? MISSILE DEFENSE? What Missile Defense? I thought Obama cancelled our missile defense
MISSILE DEFENSE AGENCY changes its logo to resemble the ISLAMIC OBAMA logo
The Missile Defense Agency may have a new logo. Is it familiar?
Why not just stick with a simply defined logo like this
Someone needs to update Wiki
Take a deep breath people. I work at the MDA. The official MDA seal has not been changed or replaced. This is a different logo on the public MDA website which was developed approximately 3 years ago (I seem to remember that was before the last presidential election), in support of MDA recruiting efforts, and is not linked to any political entity. Go to the bottom of the page to see the MDA logo. If anything, Obama’s ad people copied this one.

The New Missile Defense Agency Logo Looks Familiar
good comments here:
I am filing a FOIA request with the DOJ to find out if the issue of Islamic symbol shapes ever came up in discussions about the Missile Defense Agency logo. Will post further on my Error Theory blog:
“Holy crap! Because all we need is Islamic paranoiacs noticing that we’re firing a missile straight into the Islamic crescent. If only the explosion produced a six-pointed star, they could really go to town.”

New Missile Defense Agency Logo Causes Online Commotion... with 3 pics whoopie, no story, BAH
We have a Nimrod.
Maybe... but maybe it also means "reaching out to muslims" through a missile strike. Look where the implied point of impact: the heart of islam (if that is indeed a crescent). Could it be a patriotic logo designer getting one over on the 0bama people?

The Left, champions of strict separation of church and state, have come out in support of an American theocracy. How can this be? Could this possibly be the same political machine that ritualistically goes from town to town scanning courthouses for explicit references to God, or even worse, the Ten Commandments? Or the establishment telling little Susie she cannot pray at school? Or the organization forbidding the reading of scripture, even on a purely non-sectarian, academic basis? Surely we can’t be talking about the same ideologues.
But there is no mistake. The Left supports theocracy, as long as it is Islamic. The evidence sits all around us: Public school officials train students to ward off fanciful Christian (never Islamic) hostage-takers, but rush to allow Muslim students 15 minutes of class time to pray to Allah.
President Obama publicly advocates the Islamic practice of covering women to alleviate lust, without so much as a whimper from those staunch defenders of women’s rights in the Democratically-controlled Congress.”

I know, what is going on Bob?! I saw this in my research for this thread & thought I was stunned beyond belief, then I saw that! This admin is literally making us physically ill!
First he would have to drive the US into economic ruin so we would not have the resources to defend ourselves...
And that’s exactly what he’s doing. All part of the scheme. The commie left hate America with a passion.
You know, today as I was looking at it, I actually saw what you are saying.
I don’t believe it, I don’t believe that’s what it means. If it was a Dick Cheney in office I could believe it. Not with our closet muslim in the WH.

I find it interesting that in Obamas first year in office, he has pulled out of the European missile defense plans, cut the Kinetic Energy Interceptor program, cut the Multiple Kill Vehicle Program, drastically cut the Ground-based Midcourse Defense Program, and gutted the MDA in general.
Recently he also let be desroyed the Advanced Tactical Laser system. We HAD a high energy laser system built and in the final stages of being able to deploy an airbourne tactical laser weapon capable of surgicaly denying assests to the enemy without civilians getting hurt. Now its a yard sale in a hanger and the airplane is headed for the bone yard.
Thanks for sharing.
Holy sh*t, it’s a shameless copy of Iran’s logo.
Unsurprising as the enemy never has been creative; just jealous.
New government logo: Can you say ‘crescent’?
Missile agency symbol also compared to Obama campaign emblem
Is this guy insulting the collective intelligence of THOUSANDS of us now?
However, Rick Lehner, Washington spokesman for Missile Defense Agency, laughed off the notion in an interview with WND today.
“I think it’s just people who are just,” he hesitated for a moment, “different.”
Lehner laughed at the comparisons and said, “I don’t know where they would even begin to come up with something like that. It’s ridiculous.”
He said the logo was designed for use on recruiting materials three years ago, and that the official Missile Defense Agency logo features five colors and says Missile Defense Agency Department of Defense.
“That’s our official logo,” Lehner said. “The other one was just developed for recruiting materials years before the Obama campaign. We’re trying to attract a younger workforce because we want to get kids out of college. Instead of using the official shield, a company that the agency hired in Washington, D.C., to do recruiting stuff developed that logo.”
He explained that the white, eight-pronged explosion signifies an intercepted missile.
“That’s why we have a star,” he said, laughing. “It’s really not a star; it’s a flash from the interception of a missile.”
Lehner said the agency redesigned its website “about 14 or 15 months ago” and used the recruiting emblem for a more contemporary look. The official logo is still featured in the bottom left corner of the website, though it is much smaller and less prominent than the recruiting symbol.
As for any link between the Missile Defense Agency’s recruiting insignia and an Islamic crescent or the Obama campaign logo, Lehner added,((( “I don’t understand why people would make that connection.” )))
OK FReepers, next challenge-—who IS this joker:
Rick Lehner, Washington spokesman for Missile Defense Agency
((( Col. ))) Rick Lehner
I cannot phantom how after being the DC spokesman for many years , can he NOT realise what that logo looked like, come on now!
Mayhaps he doesn’t know a damn thing about the leftie that created it?
Again, the old one (below) has the red and yellow colors of communist China and Soviet Union. Also, a missile shooting through what could symbolize a red communist star and/or intercepted Soviet or ChiCom missile. My best guess is that, either, Obami the commie and his team of communist advisers just couldn't handle the anti-communist imagery of it, or they were asked by comrade Putin or the ChiComs to replace it.
Both logos, old and new, appear to depict a defensive missile shooting down an incoming one. Both have a "star" that represents the explosion of the intercept.
Whatever Obama does foreign policy-wise, his first aim is to appease the Russians who are slowly attempting to reform the old Soviet Union, and quite possibly even return to communism. The "Bear" has been in a state of hibernation for the past 25 years or so, but is now beginning to show signs of a reawakening. If they were no longer pro-global communism, they wouldn't be helping Chavez, Castro and other such anti-Capitalist, pro-communist countries build up their militaries.
Iran is another protected ally of Russia and the ChiComs, and Ahmadinejad was probably a Russian plant from the get-go. The guy speaks more like an academic leftist than a religious fanatic, saying such things as, Chavez is "a source of a progressive and revolutionary current in South America and his stance in restricting imperialism is tangible". That is pure commie-speak.
In the end, Obama's foreign policy agenda is clear: to disarm the United States militarily and pave the way for Russian and ChiCom superiority, all in the name of "world peace" of course. This has been the mission of the commie left for many decades. They are anything BUT religious freaks or out to turn America into an islamic nation as some here apparently believe or fear. This is waaay beyond ridiculous.

Russia, China plan new joint military exercises
By MARTIN SIEFF, UPI Senior News Analyst
Published: March 26, 2009
WASHINGTON, March 26 (UPI) -- The continuing tensions over Russia's refusal to sell its state-of-the-art land warfare advanced weapons systems to China hasn't interrupted the rhythm of major joint military exercises between the two major land powers on the Eurasian landmass. The latest in the regular, biennial series of exercises between the two nations has been confirmed for this summer.
The next in the now well-established series of exercises called Peace Mission 2009 will be carried out in northeastern China, the Russian Defense Ministry announced March 18, according to a report carried by the RIA Novosti news agency.
The first bilateral Peace Mission maneuvers -- described at the time as counter-terrorism exercises -- were held in Russia and the eastern Chinese province of Shandong in August 2005. As we reported at that time, they were a lot bigger than mere counter-terrorism exercises. Warships, squadrons of combat aircraft and more than 10,000 troops were involved carrying out landings against hypothetically hostile shores. The maneuvers also involved large-scale paratroops drops. The scale and nature of those exercises suggested a trial run for a possible Chinese invasion of Taiwan with Russian support. ..."
Russia, China flex muscles in joint war games
August 17, 2007
CHEBARKUL, Russia (Reuters) - Russia and China staged their biggest joint exercises on Friday but denied this show of military prowess could lead to the formation of a counterweight to NATO.
"Today's exercises are another step towards strengthening the relations between our countries, a step towards strengthening international peace and security, and first and foremost, the security of our peoples," Putin said.
Fighter jets swooped overhead, commandos jumped from helicopters on to rooftops and the boom of artillery shells shook the firing range in Russia's Ural mountains as two of the largest armies in the world were put through their paces.
The exercises take place against a backdrop of mounting rivalry between the West, and Russia and China for influence over Central Asia, a strategic region that has huge oil, gas and mineral resources.
Russia's growing assertiveness is also causing jitters in the West. Putin announced at the firing range that Russia was resuming Soviet-era sorties by its strategic bomber aircraft near NATO airspace.
War Games: Russia, China Grow Alliance
September 23, 2005
In foreign policy its critical to know thine enemy. So American policymakers should be aware that Russia and China are inching closer to identifying a common enemy the United States.
The two would-be superpowers held unprecedented joint military exercises Aug. 18-25. Soothingly named Peace Mission 2005, the drills took place on the Shandong peninsula on the Yellow Sea, and included nearly 10,000 troops. Russian long-range bombers, the army, navy, air force, marine, airborne and logistics units from both countries were also involved.
Moscow and Beijing claim the maneuvers were aimed at combating terrorism, extremism and separatism (the last a veiled reference to Taiwan), but its clear they were an attempt to counter-balance American military might.
Joint war games are a logical outcome of the Sino-Russian Friendship and Cooperation Treaty signed in 2001, and reflect the shared worldview and growing economic ties between the two Eastern Hemisphere giants."

"The two sides [China and Russia] shall, in the spirit of partnership, strive to promote the multipolarization of the world and the establishment of a new international order."

Russian nuclear bombers in Cuba?
July 23, 2008
The media has been abuzz today at the prospect of Russian nuclear bombers being stationed in Cuba if the US goes ahead with plans for missile defense bases in Eastern Europe.
The story has riled the US enough that a US general has been wheeled out to tell the worlds press that any Russian attempt to build another nuclear base in Cuba would cross US red line.
The story broke earlier this week, when Russian newspaper Izvestia quoted an un-named source from within the Russian military. He told the Russian daily:
While they are deploying the missile shield in Poland and the Czech Republic, our strategic bombers will already be landing in Cuba.
The quote hasnt been independently confirmed, but the Russian Defense Ministry added fuel to the fire when they refused to comment on the story.
The prospect of Russian nuclear forces being stationed in Cuba - which is, after all, only 90 miles from the US coast - would bring back some rather unpleasant memories for the US of the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962, where the Soviet Union under Nikita Kruschev launched an audacious and foolhardy bid to station nuclear missiles on the Caribbean island.
Russia to help Cuba modernize weaponry, train military
September 18, 2009
HAVANA, September 18 (RIA Novosti) - Modernization of the Soviet-made military equipment and training of Cuban military personnel will be the focus of Russian-Cuban military cooperation in the near future, the chief of the Russian General Staff said on Friday. Gen. Nikolai Makarov arrived on a working visit to Cuba on Monday, met with Cuban President Raul Castro and the country's military leadership, and visited a number of military installations.
"During the Soviet era we delivered a large number of military equipment to Cuba, and after all these years most of this weaponry has become obsolete and needs repairs," Makarov said.
"We inspected the condition of this equipment, and outlined the measures to be taken to maintain the defense capability of this country...I think a lot of work needs to be done in this respect, and I hope we will be able to accomplish this task," the general said.
Makarov said the Cuban request for assistance with training of military personnel will also be fully satisfied.
Although the Cuban leadership has repeatedly said it has no intention of resuming military cooperation with Russia after the surprise closure of the Russian electronic listening post in Lourdes in 2001, bilateral military ties seem to have been improving following the visit of Russian Security Council chief Nikolai Patrushev and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin to Cuba in July last year.
A group of Russian warships, led by the Admiral Chabanenko destroyer visited Cuba in December last year during a Caribbean tour.

Obama Pledges Cuts in Missile Defense, Space, and Nuclear Weapons Programs
February 29, 2008 :: News
A video has surfaced of Presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama talking on his plans for strategic issues such as nuclear weapons and missile defense.
The full text from the video, as released, reads as follows:
Thanks so much for the Caucus4Priorities, for the great work you've been doing. As president, I will end misguided defense policies and stand with Caucus4Priorities in fighting special interests in Washington.
First, I'll stop spending $9 billion a month in Iraq. I'm the only major candidate who opposed this war from the beginning. And as president I will end it.[i.e. not win it]
Second, I will cut tens of billions of dollars in wasteful spending.
I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems.
I will not weaponize space.
I will slow our development of future combat systems.
And I will institute an independent "Defense Priorities Board" to ensure that the Quadrennial Defense Review is not used to justify unnecessary spending.
Third, I will set a goal of a world without nuclear weapons. To seek that goal, I will not develop new nuclear weapons; I will seek a global ban on the production of fissile material; and I will negotiate with Russia to take our ICBMs off hair-trigger alert [they are NOT on "hair-trigger alert" now -etl], and to achieve deep cuts in our nuclear arsenals.
You know where I stand. I've fought for open, ethical and accountable government my entire public life. I don't switch positions or make promises that can't be kept. I don't posture on defense policy and I don't take money from federal lobbyists for powerful defense contractors. As president, my sole priority for defense spending will be protecting the American people. Thanks so much.

2008 Pentagon Report (March 2008):
China's Growing Military Space Power
By Leonard David
Special Correspondent, SPACE.com
March 6, 2008
GOLDEN, Colorado A just-released Pentagon report spotlights a growing U.S. military concern that China is developing a multi- dimensional program to limit or prevent the use of space-based assets by its potential adversaries during times of crisis or conflict.
Furthermore, last year's successful test by China of a direct-ascent, anti-satellite (ASAT) weapon to destroy its own defunct weather satellite, the report adds, underscores that country's expansion from the land, air, and sea dimensions of the traditional battlefield into the space and cyber-space domains.
Although China's commercial space program has utility for non- military research, that capability demonstrates space launch and control know-how that have direct military application. Even the Chang'e 1 the Chinese lunar probe now circling the Moon is flagged in the report as showcasing China's ability "to conduct complicated space maneuvers a capability which has broad implications for military counterspace operations."
