These two storms can be easily seen on the Pacific satellite picture. Note that the second storm in the middle of the Pacific is tapping a rich moisture source north of Hawaii.
Rain is already falling over the northern third of California on north and more occurs tonight while spreading slowly south. This is nothing more than the typical run of the mill rain and mountain snow producer. Not really a big deal. Very little rain gets into Southern California from this tomorrow afternoon and evening. Only a little light rain will occur, certainly not enough to cause problems in the burn areas, while the deserts of California and Arizona remain dry.
The second storm will become more of a full latitude storm that, like I said earlier, is already tapping a rich moisture source. In the Northwest rain spreads in tomorrow night and continues Friday along with gusty winds, especially along the coast and in the Cascades. Winds could be in the 20 to 40 mph range. Snow levels rise to near 4,500 feet before falling some on Friday.
Rain spreads from north to south through California Friday and Friday night, arriving in southern California Friday night.

CALIFORNIA THIS WEEK. THE FIRST WEAK UPPER LOW WILL BRING SHOWERS
LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT INTO THURSDAY. A SECOND STRONGER STORM WILL
LIKELY BRING RAIN AND MOUNTAIN SNOW LATE FRIDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.
RAINFALL TOTALS WITH THE FIRST WEAK SYSTEM SHOULD GENERALLY BE LESS
THAN A QUARTER OF AN INCH WEDNESDAY NIGHT INTO THURSDAY MORNING.
HOWEVER...THERE COULD BE LOCAL LARGER AMOUNTS ON THE COASTAL
MOUNTAIN SLOPES. THE SNOW LEVEL WILL LOWER TO 6000 TO 6500 FEET AND
THERE WILL BE PATCHY DENSE FOG IN THE MOUNTAINS. THERE WILL ALSO BE
GUSTY WINDS IN THE MOUNTAINS AND DESERTS.
THE SECOND STRONGER STORM APPROACHING FROM THE NORTHWEST WILL LIKELY
BRING MORE RAIN...MOUNTAIN SNOW AND STRONG GUSTY WINDS LATE FRIDAY
AND SATURDAY. PRELIMINARY RAINFALL TOTALS SHOULD BE NEAR AN INCH IN
THE COASTAL AND VALLEY AREAS...NEAR TWO INCHES ON THE COASTAL
MOUNTAIN SLOPES AND LESS THAN HALF AN INCH IN THE DESERTS. THE RAIN
COULD CAUSE LOCAL FLOODING OF POORLY DRAINED STREETS AND LOW LYING
AREAS.
STRONG GUSTY WINDS WILL ACCOMPANY THIS SYSTEMS...ESPECIALLY IN THE
MOUNTAINS...DESERTS AND COASTAL WATERS. THE SURF WILL ALSO INCREASE
FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.
THE SNOW LEVEL WILL LOWER TO NEAR 5000 FEET WITH LOCAL ACCUMULATIONS
TO ABOUT A FOOT AT THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS. SNOW...BLOWING SNOW AND
DENSE FOG WILL REDUCE VISIBILITY TO NEAR ZERO IN THE MOUNTAINS AT
TIMES FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY.
PEOPLE SHOULD STAY INFORMED ON THE LATEST FORECASTS.

Was just watching the Weather channel...and the Texas - Globull Warming storm is picking up Gulf moisture and heading for the North East where it plans to distribute more Gorebull Warming in the form of nice white stuff!

No worries. Austin was right on the demarkation line of snow/sleet/rain. It’ll all be melted off by mid-day tomorrow.
We are still 3” short on rainfall here on the mud flats of Humboldt Bay, 22 vs 25...
...right now I’m watching quarter size fluffy flakes covering ground in northwestern NJ....3 inches due overnight..another storm coming tomorrow night,through Thursday...early predictions...6-10....
Let me guess: these will move east and hit the mid-atlantic by next week - NO MORE SNOW!!!!

Nice job of doing postings Ernest.
N.California reservoirs were filling above halfway after only holding about a 1/3 of capacity before the rainy season began. A couple of more El Nino storms and the spring thaw should end panic of drought implication this summer. Not that we are allowed to use the water.
