My daughters jacket did NOT touch her face, but they still required her to remove it. They also required the poor 80 year old gentleman in line right before her to remove his cap and glasses.

Thank you!. I am still toying with the idea of filing a complaint with the state attorney general. If we do not stand up, we will be run over by lying down. This is not an issue I have with muslims - they can cover anything they want. But the rules for a state ID photo should be the same no matter what race or religion one belongs to. I don’t care if the rule is you can wear a scarf or not wear one, as long as it is equally enforced.

I read it wrong...so the reason was given was just because one can’t wear something that is NEAR the face in a DL photo? Good grief.

What??? Just because some Americans are Christians, they aren’t suppose to take a stand? Do you think just because someone happens to be Muslim they have special rights to inject their “religion” into our laws and requirements?

A stand on what? Muslims don't have “special rights”. All Americans are free to practice their religion, and that includes mode of dress. Muslim women, as a matter of religious course and modesty wear headscarves. The woman who is bitching here claims her daughter is the victim of religious prejudice because she was asked to remove her coat. The wearing of the coat (despite the shit this woman made up) is not a religious requirement, therefore to ask her to remove it does not constitute religious discrimination. If the Muslim women were told they would not be accommodated while wearing their headscarves, they could have justifiably walked out and found an attorney, and no doubt prevailed in court. That option is open to all parties, but apparently members of the Gortex faith don't value their beliefs enough to have made that choice. I would guess the real issue here is that some people just plain can't stand the idea of religious freedom, and embrace forcing people to embarrass themselves because of that.

That is the bigger picture that some are failing to see here. You've obviously got it, and for the record, I think most Americans do too.

So would she! She’s already had her fill of affirmative discrimination, racial profiling, harrassment and the need to constantly look over her shoulder.

You are right to complain, but, with the muslim in the White House, courtsey of the traitors that refer to themselves as “Americans”, consider yourself lucky not to be arrested and charged with a hate crime. If you believe that we will get back to Constitutional Government through either through the Courts or by voting you need to look at who is on the Courts and who is in control of the voting. On November 4, 2998, the “Hope and Changers” slew the United States we know it. Lately we have stableized it to an extent. Whether it can be revived depends on us, not the politican.

To drive a car shouldn’t be restricted by the state any more then if some one needs a license to drive a horse or a bike or boat which they don’t.

Don't be so sure.
