Amazing Kreskin Predicts Tiger Woods Will Pay for Sex Scandal for the Rest of His Career
New York Daily News ^ | Saturday, March 6th 2010 | Hank Gola

No one seems to know when Tiger Woods will be returning to the PGA Tour, let alone whether he will performing up to his incomparable standards.

Even caddie Steve Williams pleads ignorance - although he'll have to explain that to Elin.

With so few places to turn, we called on The Amazing Kreskin, who is to mentalists what Woods is to hackers. Kreskin, who just turned 75, says he has given the matter a lot of thought and has some definite ideas on Tiger post-scandal.

The bottom line: Woods will find success again on the golf course but will never be accepted again by the majority of fans.

Kreskin's prediction is that Woods will pay for this the rest of his life.

"If there is one word, I would say 'loneliness,'" he said. In fact, Kreskin sees even more of a challenge ahead for Woods than for Michael Vick, who served time for his involvement in dogfighting rings.

"I don't think [Woods] can pull out of it," Kreskin said. "Think about this. We have a climate today where a sports figure can make a second living having animals in a contest where they are killed or maimed. He can go to prison, come out and get a multi-million dollar contract.

"Well, in the United States, we love to put people up on a high pedestal and knock them down. It's been traditional for a couple of centuries. But then we love a comeback. But in the case of Tiger Woods, I don't see the comeback as it's happened with Michael Vick."

Vick, of course, hasn't regained the success he once had on the football field. There, said Kreskin, Woods should quickly get back to winning majors and even making millions.

"But there's one thing standing in the way," he cautioned.

Golf itself.

"Golf, unlike football, is a pastoral sport. It's like a painting on a horizon which you can see and gaze and spread your eyes over. It's an extraordinarily slow-moving sport," he explained. "Unlike [other sports], it would be impossible for any human being who knows his story to watch him play, frequently reflecting and thinking in that down time about the scandal of his life.

"That's not true when you're watching an exciting movie, a horse race or an exciting game," Kreskin said. "I practice hypnotic techniques. You can condition the mind to forget things. But do you really think that no matter what anybody does somebody can block out all that they've heard read and wondered about and the images of the women and whatever - no. He's going to carry that with him the rest of his life, and the worst times it will happen when he's playing golf because his image with all the down time is going to bring back a flood of memories."

Well, you hardly need a world-class prognosticator to come up with a conclusion like this. I like Kreskin, but what’s been said is just common sense.

Woods will still make a fine living as a golfer in any case, but it won’t be nearly as good as what it could have been. The question is, does he have a better life making half a billion in revenue, or a full billion? In the end, he’ll have a better quality of life if he gets his excrement straightened away no matter what he makes.

Like the old line goes from “Citizen Kane”, “Oh, it’s not hard to make a lot of money....if all you want to do is make a lot of money”.

Although many will remember and not really forgive and forget Woods’ past; I think that if he has enough chutzpah, which he apparently has, based on his behavior when the Missus was preggers, etc., he can just go out and play golf and act like it never happened. The media may give him some problems, but the other pro golfers, being gentlemen, will not give him much grief. IMHO

Teh media and PGA fawn over him. The PGA should test him for steroids and HGH but they won’t. He is slime.

Across America, for the last month or two (How long has it been?) alcohol addled morons in bars have been sagely stating the same thing.

I think I'm in disagreement with this statement:

"Well, in the United States, we love to put people up on a high pedestal and knock them down..."

In my opinion, the press and the PGA built this image of Tiger for their own reasons. I used to get really pissed off when TV cameras would follow Woods into the rough looking for his ball while the tournament leader would be putting for the win on the 18th green. "They" not "we" put him on a pedestal because he fit their image of their great muti-cultural society of the future.

And what is it with, "we love to tear them down?" I for one had absolutely nothing to do with Tiger's indiscretions. How am I implicated in his self-destruction. I resent that statement and deny any involvement in his activities whatsoever. Plus, I am not aware of any society in existence that rewards a person for exhibiting treachery and flagrant abuse of a loved one's trust.

Tiger did this to himself, Kreskin. He is not a victim of an unjust society!

Yeah, I think so! Rush Limbaugh said "everybody knew" including him, and he barely knows Tiger.

The do-gooders that set him up as a saint then took him down as a devil will think what they want to forever. I could care less. He’s the greatest golfer of all time, I could give a flip what he does when he’s not in the sand trap! I wish I could invest in him somehow ... buy his stock. The people who dropped him as sponsors will soon regret it. He’s going to come back, and with even more drive to prove himself ... not as a man (who cares) but as the greatest golfer of all times. I don’t give a flip whether or not Brittany Spears wears panties, and I don’t care what Tiger does when he’s not playing golf. Its none of my business. Now Play the Game!

Seems possible. At the very least it's likely that fewer endorsement deals will be coming his way.And he could wind up paying in other ways as well.

I just caught up on his bio on wiki. Apparently, Randi (81), just completed his final chemo session for intestinal cancer, so he won't be going for much longer, I'm afraid.

Right now, if Tiger Woods were to play the Masters this year, expect him at the Arnold Palmer Invitational on March 25-28, 2010. The Bay Hill Country Club is literally minutes from Woods’ home, and that makes it really convenient as the first tournament back.
