TOKYO, - A senior retail manager for Prada Japan alleges in a lawsuit she was ordered to eliminate employees who didn't have the "Prada look."

Rina Bovrisse said Prada Japan Chief Executive Officer Davide Sesia informed her she had to eliminate 15 managerial staff workers he deemed "old, fat, ugly, disgusting or not having the Prada look," The Daily Telegraph (Britain) said Friday.

Bovrisse alleges in her discrimination and harassment suit against the Italian fashion label that Sesia also asked her to lose some weight and change her hairstyle.

The retail manager, who supervised staffs at 40 stores in Japan, said 13 staff people were given demotional transfer orders following Sesia's demands. The company said the orders were due to poor sales, Bovirsse said.

Bovrisse told the Telegraph she decided to sue the company, which had no comment on the lawsuit, to protect her fellow workers.

"My responsibility is to protect hard-working women and make sure their working environment is safe," Bovrisse said.

Working for Cartier, They also place emphasis on the Cartier lifestyle. In Japan, where Image is EVERYTHING I can imagine photo boutiques hiring and firing people because of their brand names.

Just like Acrombie & Fitch here. I been to their stores and it is “pretty people”. No fugly fat types or anything. You won’t see a homely or fat person there.

I'd hit it.

Of course, I'd break it when I did.

An Islamist sued Acrombie & Fitch because they wouldn’t let her wear her headscarf, etc. that she says are required of her faith.

I guess working for a clothing store decorated with nude models is not against her faith...

If this suit is successful, I’ve got a surprise for the NBA.

'Prada' just looks like recycled 'heroin chic' to me.

To me it appears the “Prada Look” is: skeletal teens who look like they can read at a 3rd grade level and haven’t slept in days.

I used to do computer work for an 'upper scale' women's jeans maker.

They used to have periodic sales to their associates - seconds and that sort of thing. The prices sounded good so I made a comment to my coworker that she should go and take advantage of the sale.

She said "I can't, they don't make clothes in my size." I expressed some surprise - she was what I'd call an "average-sized" woman.....not big, not small, just....normal. So I went to see what she was talking about.

Company makes sizes 0,1,2 and 3. Nothing else. Skinny is their "image" and they don't want fat - or even regular - people in their jeans.

'Twas an eyeopener for me, as before I'd just go grab a pair of Wranglers off the shelf. Didn't really think of a customer base buying an "image", just buying something that they liked and fit correctly.

Just judging by names, it sounds like a western woman working at Prada Japan. Guess what.. the lawsuit will be thrown out. If anything the company will pay her some gomennasai money but they will not change the policy. In Japan there is no law about you being able to work for someone else without having your feelings hurt.

If you look in a help wanted magazine in Japan you will quickly notice that the majority of jobs are listed as either "Male" or "Female". As a foreign manager at a very high-end retailer in Tokyo she probably makes huge bank and should spend some of it at a gym membership and get her fat-ass in shape if she wants a luxury lifestyle.

Not to mention, the powers that be are liable to pull her immigration records, find a discrepancy in her visa status, and boot her big behind out of Japan for raising a stink and trying Wester style ambulance chasing, victim’s lawsuits in Japn.
