Posted on 03/17/2010 11:09:17 PM PDT by se_ohio_young_conservative

So many people beat around the bush and repeat MSM talking point.

I want to hear honest opinions.

Do you think Sarah Palin should run in 2012 ? Can she win in 2012 ? If not, why ?

I want to read serious opinions. not repeated MSM distortions.

I think she alone could raise funds equally well as the pubbies. If she declared she would have no end of volunteers, more committed than say there were for McCain and on a level with the enthusiasm we saw on the dem side in 08. I’m not sure there’s anything preventing her from running a successful campaign but she does need to act like that’s her goal at this time. The Fox gig is probably okay short term but detrimental beyond this year.

If any reason why she cannot win is solely due to the ignorance and stupidity factor of most of America.

Be offended America, be offended to the core of your beliefs as I know you were mislead, have you found your guidance to the truth yet?

When you can say let your heart be true then you will have answered your question.

No. She can’t possibly win now that she has lowered herself to talking-head status. She was once unique. Now she’s just another media pimp like Bob Schieffer, Lou Dobbs, Bill O’Reilley, and what’shername.

I think her real problem is that she’s been co-opted by the Washington progressive machine and has already lost her roots as an anti-establishment, small-government outsider.

Her endorsement and campaigning for McCain says pretty much all we need to know about her now.

It’s a damn shame. I really liked her and had high hopes for before this.

I love her position on almost everything but I don't think she will ever be president.

Dan Quale is smarter than Joe Biden, Al Gore, Mike Dukakis or John Kerry but he has no future in politics.

Washington is the biggest playground in the world. Like a playground, fair or unfair, nicknames stick. Sarah is an inspiration but, like it or not (and I don't) she's been branded a light weight and will never be president.

That's a loss for the country.

“because she goes over their heads with ease and and grace and explains things” in a way that even apolitical swing voters can understand.

You’re right of course. Sarah is the best candidate on the horizon. Just her popularizing of the term “death panels” did more for us in the health care fight than what any ten RINOs have done.

She can. Timing depends on 2010 results. If there’s a resounding vote out in 2010, she is primed to make a huge push. If 2010 are just so-so, I’d advise her to wait until 2016. It really depends on how much more the American public can take from Obama.

If Palin runs, she will win and our country will begin to heal.

Regardless of who wins in 2012 the country will remain fractured.

The most offensive thing that I ever heard is the notion that Sarah shouldn’t run, i’m angered that a person who never ran for president, yet to give her platform and ideas for the nation, who never competed in debates on her own for people to decide who ideas are better is told by even some conservatives in essence to’ Don’t show up, go home, we don’t want you to even try!’ ............that is very offensive and disgusted

a) Yes
b) Yes

I'm withholding any predictions on Piper in 2044. I'm not able, nor 'gifted', in merely looking at a six year old and determining her viable as a future POTUS.

Here are 5 reasons why Palin could win in 2012:

1)As it stands now only 4 people stand to be POTUS in 2012-Obama, Biden, Romney or Palin and most likely only 3-Obama, Romney, and Palin. That’s pretty good odds, regardless of what happens to Obama’s poll numbers in the next 30 months.

2)And regarding poll numbers if Obama is anywhere between 47 and 51% in the Gallup poll (I prefer the RCP avg of polls) what I call the zone of uncertainly he is vulnerable. And as Mark McKinnon said today-no sitting POTUS has been reelected in he is sitting below 47% going into the fall election (Sept-Oct 2012). Obama is currently at 45% with Rasmussen and 46% with Gallup. That gives Palin a decent chance to be POTUS in 2012.

3)As I see it Palin’s main opposition if Romney. If she can secure the base and by her massive support convince Huckabee not to run she will be in good shape to get the nomination.

4)Palin’s momentum is growing; it is just a matter of time that she gains full LEGITIMACY.

5)Obama will not move to the center like Clinton and make it harder to be reelected and Palin to be elected in 2012.

Palin is unelectable. She will never be able to offer realistic and credible reasons for her resigning the governorship to make her trustworthy to the middle road votes, independents and blue dog dems she will need to win.

It was a deal breaker at the time and she knew it. The only reason she dangles the possibility of a run is to keep her customers in a state suspended hope so she can continue to play the conservative diva and empty your pockets via speaker fees, book deals and media appearances.

As long as she is working to help elect conservatives and defeat dems, I have no problem with it although I think her not just coming out and saying she won't run is dishonest. She's playing her fans like a flute and you all dance to the tune oblivious to the bread crumbs in the melody.

If Palin does run in the primary it won't be because she thinks she can win the presidency, it's to enhance her status as a political force and playmaker...and fatten up that conservative cash cow. Ala Pat Robertson.

It must be the Palin hater factor you have Bobj. I'm from Alaska, and the story is true, what part do you refuse to believe???

All things are possible.

But - it depends.

Running mate - a solid one will help a lot.

What happens in 2010 - no surprise the Dems will take a beating. If it turns out the beating is more of a blood bath, and a very strong grass roots based conservative movement gets momentum, the door is open for a real solid conservative as a candidate.

The state of the Union (or whats left of it) - Part of me thinks Zero is hanging his own party out to dry. He needs an “enemy” to campaign against because he can’t lead. Ever notice he is all about blaming someone else, and then just ranting and firing up the hand out crowd? I believe by late 2011, people will be so pissed off with his antics and figured this broken record out they will come out in droves to vote him out.

The media - a lot of people still get their info from Pravda. They might be influenced enough to vote for someone else.

The Republican party - there are still enough in the party who remain insiders. She might have more problems in the primary than the general.
Palin has been very up front about everything. She might not be the cookie cutter candidate, but look where that has gotten us.

All in all I think it’s way too early. I would rather we “let it happen” than try to force it to happen.

“I’m from Alaska, and the story is true, what part do you refuse to believe???”

Interesting way to phrase the question “refuse to believe”.

Anyway, pretty much all of it except the part about the negative effect it was having on her and her family.

But then again, even that one would be blown out of the water if she decides to run for Prez.

As of right now, I would say no. While many of us would like for her to be Reagan, I suspect she is closer to being the Republican Geraldine Ferraro at this point. Unlike with Uhbamuh, the media will make hay with her perceived lack of experience, the entertainment media will assault the public with nonstop Levi Johnston and she will be lampooned nonstop on every comedy program. But perhaps most importantly, she will have to go through the rigors of a tough nomination battle in the party and unless she shows a greater grasp of the issues than I have seen so far, she will have little chance of making it to the end of a primary campaign.

She would have been a stronger candidate in ‘16 or ‘20 if she had never been nominated by McCain.

I guess you mind has been poisoned by the lame stream media down in America. In Alaska, the facts remain what they are.

Just can't imagine what it is you think is phony?
