At the Rally Yesterday

I am an African-American female who was in attendance at the rally at the Capitol yesterday to this horrible "health care" bill. I did not hear one racial epithet; the people were friendly and orderly; and a couple of my white co-teabaggers hugged me. They were warm and friendly. And although they are upset at what is happening to our government, they were not racist, hateful or nasty. Realistically speaking, in any group you are going to have one or two out-of-line individuals; that's just life. However, I did not run into one of them. Morever, there was a group of black youngsters from Orlando, FL visiting the Capitol, and to the best of my knowledge, they were wonderfully treated by the protestors.

We do not want the MSM to paint a broad brush and attempt to smear the entire tea party movement, if a couple of individuals were disrepectful to a couple of Black Congressmen. This is unfair to the 99% who are decent, patriot Americans. But I do have one question about this alleged incident: Where's the evidence it actually occured?

There is none, at that, Kristinn posted a video yesterday of the congressmen in question when the event supposedly occurred and there were not epitaphs or spitting on the video at all. Simply put, they lied.

Thanks for the first-hand report. Like you, I haven’t seen (or heard) any definitive proof that racial slurs were hurled yesterday at black members of Congress. But remember: you’re dealing with the MSM; they don’t need proof—rumors, distortions and lies are enough for them.

One more thing: don’t discount the possibility that the slurs (assuming they actually occurred) came from Democratic plants. As I understand it, anyone could show up on Capitol Hill and join the protest. Under those conditions, it would be easy to have thugs from SEIU (or other Democratic organizations) show up and yell racist remarks at the right time.

Thanks for your report, BFC. They LOVE to paint us all as racists, yet we are mereley hard-working Americans trying to care for our families and hold onto more of what we’ve earned. Agree 100% that there are a few bad apples in every bushel, but overall just concerned, frustrated citizens tired of being ignored.

I admit to one prejudice: I do not like / will not associate with “free riders”. I have a lazy-assed 33 year old neighbor (white), lives with mommy, and is drawing a partial SS benefit because he’s “bi-polar”. He’s a LOSER, and he can’t understand why I won’t “hang out” with him. He’s never had a job for more that three months that I know of, so how can he collect? Perfect example of a poorly run government program.

I respect EVERY American who crawls out of bed every morning (instead of making excuses), and sets out to do the right thing for his family and for the country.

I would suspect that anybody hurling racial ephitets was a plant. An “agent provacateur”, as they say.

Nobody checks your ID at the door at one of these protests. If the Donks want to discredit us (and you know they desperately do) you can expect they would plant some people in the crowd to shout out “The N-Word” at inappropriate moments.

Between them and the LaRouchies, there is somebody at these protests who will say almost any fool thing.

I was there yesterday. It was the most well-behaved and polite mob you could ever hope to see. They did not much care for Barack Obama, but the color of his skin had nothint to do with that.

I know a guy in Mississippi, late 20s, who collects more than $700 a month in SSI for a so-called “anxiety disorder.” I’m a retired military officer with a service-related hearing problem resulting from years of listening to high-frequency radios. My “disability” isn’t severe enough for a VA pension, and quite frankly, I’ve never asked for one—my retirement pay is more than satisfactory. And, BTW, I also take anxiety medication, but I wouldn’t dream of using that for a disability claim.

Still, I’ve sometimes wondered what would happen if I took my medication bottle to the local Social Security office. Multiply that a few million checks a month, and you can see what’s wrong with this country.

I’ve been to several Tea Party gatherings at Legislative Plaza in Nashville where I stood with people of all colors. Mostly pasty-white, like me, but not all. Had any racial epithets been made at those events, I’m certain the offender would have been hauled out and thrown into a dumpster.

Interesting... I would have never walked down the middle of a mob of people if they were screaming racial rants at me. None of these men looked frightened. The Democrats are the ones calling names on the house floor. All this huge crowd seems to be intent on talking about is the healthcare bill. I wish I could have been there!

If there is ANY way that you could get your message out to the media, at least to someone at Fox, maybe your version of the event could be presented. I watched Kristinn’s video a number of times and I never heard any racial slurs. There was a young black lady amongst the protesters in the video, and I never saw her react in a way that would imply any racist insults had been shouted at the CBC.

The race card is constantly played against the Tea Party and I think that it’s something that needs to be fought.

I hope that genuine tea partiers, when/if they hear someone in the crowd use a racial slur, grab and sequester the guy. If he's a plant, find it out and yell loud. If he's an authentic tea party person but low and stupid enough to use a racial slur, I hope fellow partiers kick his ass so he learns that kind of crap "don't go" around tea party demonstrations.
