Skip to comments.Simple question. Do you trust CNN as a reliable source for information

I'll be up front with you, I don't. I don't trust their judgment in providing accurate information on what is considered news.
But, do you trust Money Magazine, which I think are the same folks as http://money.cnn.com/.
What about CNN's information on sciences? Is CNN a reliable source on bring news about the sciences? I don't watch the channel so I can't say.
I'm most curious if you think Money Magazine is worth a subscription. Or do you think of the magazine the same way you think of the channel?
Just a step above MSNBC....But not to be trusted....they still use heavy duty eyewash.
One would trust them if one likes their news extremely biased to the left.
I don’t trust any of the news channels — sometimes not even Fox.
About all CNN is good for is celebrity news/talk (see Larry King). Good for those whose major interest is in who was voted off American Idol. And they run those occasional bleeding heart pieces about the poor. But a reliable source of hard news and opinion? No.
As far as economic insight, they were mediocre at best. I viewed them as a mouthpiece of the investment industry, which has changed significantly. The industry today is focused on managing wealth instead of teaching you to create and grow wealth. The industry today projects an apolitical view, and by that I mean they discount the risks of investing that are associated with today's administration. It would not surprise me if Money Magazine today does not provide insight into the impacts on your nest egg of our "March to Socialism."
Not without checking to see if it has been verified true at other sources.
So I guess that means that my response is no.
Only during breaking national/world disasters...and only for a short time...or until they start to blame the disaster on globull smarming and lack of national health care.
Not at all but then again I don’t trust Fox news either. The MSM by and large is not the friend of traditional Americans and haven’t been for decades.
And George Bush. :)
I don’t. I have channel blocked CNN.
Don’t trust CNN’s veracity. I guess that’s why I haven’t watched since FoxNews became available on my cable. Used to watch Crosssfire some in the era of Buchanan & Kinsley.
NO. That includes “Money” magazine.
Is this a trick question?
A cynical eye toward all news outlets is important. Each has its own political agenda, but more important is the basic need to be profitable. News has become also entangled with entertainment and news items that the mass market will consume.
Never trust any news story from any source that has a political slant. Some, like MSNBC, lie deliberately all the time, while CNN’s disinformation is a combination of liberal lies and outright stupidity. Even FOX isn’t totally reliable. You have to listen to a variety of sources, take everything you hear with a large grain of salt, and make your own decisions.
LOL to the question.
CNN is for purely entertainment value.
The most ignorant---literally--- people I know get all their news from CNN...it's on at their house 24/7.
Theres something deeply wrong with journalism that scrutinizes and criticizes the institutions of free and successful nations, but produces puff pieces on the supposed achievements of totalitarian dictatorships. On Thursday, CNN aired a piece of Communist Party propaganda about how Cuba could serve as a model for health care reform in the United States, complete with an authoritative sound bite from an American medical expert, identified only as someone whos lived and worked in Cuba for decades.
But the expert, Gail Reed, is a longtime admirer of the Cuban revolution, married to the Cuban official who served as ambassador to Grenada in the early 1980s when U.S. troops liberated the island from hardline communists who had executed the leftist Prime Minister Maurice Bishop. She's also worked at Granma, Cubas official communist party newspaper.
As for Reed, she was profiled in the Miami Herald back in 1983 after she and her husband returned to Cuba after American forces liberated Grenada. She talked about the fear she felt at seeing U.S. Marines surrounding the Cuban embassy, and told the newspaper, I feel I have a very strong identification with the Cuban revolution.
When I first came to Cuba in the 70s, I was very impressed with their efforts in building a new kind of society, Reed explained.
No no but HELL no!
I’ll trust the NATIONAL ENQUIRER, before I’ll trust CNN
Ol Woof Blister is the best propagandist since the Nazi Joseph Goebbels.
CNN is decent for some things, like their science section is pretty good. I’d say though if you were looking to pay money for a subscription to something, get the Wall Street Journal instead, or maybe BusinessWeek. BusinessWeek has gotten better since Bloomberg has bought them.
CNN in Spanish is very most definitely tainted..and tweaks the news to the Latin American citizens who LOVE big gov’t and social programs.
I trust them to lie.
I only go to CNN when there is some sort of emergency incident or, disaster, either nationwide or worldwide, ie, airline crash, severe weather, mass shooting, or some such .
Their on-scene coverage is good since they have so many field reporters all over the world.
Otherwise FOX is my primary news source.
They don’t call it the “Commie News Network” for nuttin’!
Remember a poll a month or so ago that said Fox is now #1 most trusted name in news. I believe :)
In a word, “NO,” they are not to be trusted.
CNN isn't distrusted because of what they report; CNN is distrusted because of what they omit.
CNN is an agenda driven organization. Essentially a propaganda organ of the Democratic party. How often do you ever hear criticism of liberal goals, outcomes or policies? Virtually never.
Leaving bias aside for the moment, I don’t trust any of them to give me accurate information. Towards the end of the healthcare debate it was hard to find a reporter who understood that once the House voted for the Senate bill, it was going to POTUS for signature regardless of what did or did not happen to reconciliation. In another timely example of inaccurate reporting, FNC just told me three different times that the Tea Party rally in Searchlight was mere yards away from Interstate 95.
I would be careful with a term such as “trust”, that implies “belief”, which should never be given unless a proven track record has been established.
Money Magazine should be considered entertainment as it is always at least a week behind current events, CNN sort of abandoned their “news’ effort years ago and now offers viewpoint reporting, which is fine...as long as one shares their viewpoint.
Simple answer: NO.
I do not trust any "news" source to be completely objective. CNN is known to have a substantial leftist slant. I will occasionally read a CNN report but I do so knowing I will be receiving information with the left slant.
You been living under a rock pal???????
Hell no. Next question?
No, I’d sooner trust an AIDS-infected hooker who tells me she’s a virgin though..
Not only no but HELL NO!!!
No doubt it's great if one wants to hear the Democrat talking points of the day.
They can cover international events for awhile until they all fall over themselves trying to interview the dying man lying on the street in front of them. Then they go to pieces. Of course, no one, not even a cameraman, appears to give him food, water or a damp cloth on his forehead.
Do you trust CNN as a reliable source for information?
cnn is the airport entertainment network
When I am in the VA hospital,in the waiting lounge, there are six televisions placed at various angles with nothing but CNN on.
So ,one day I had enough and went outside for a cigarette and a woman started to admonish me on the hazards of smoking.
I replied,it can not be any worse than the extreme rise in my blood pressure or the mental distress I endure watching a propaganda show.
She went her way and i went mine.
I have been in six Va hospitals and all show the same channel.
I wonder why.
