Here is a newly released video of Michelle Obama stating that she and Obama visited his home country in Kenya - she was speaking to a group during the Democratic Convention in Denver in 2008 when she made the revelation.Video link: She tells about their visit to her husband's home country at 42 seconds into the video. What more proof do we need now. This is ample evidence Obama is not a Natural Born Citizen. Michelle Obama says at 42 seconds into the video this:

"Barack has led by example, when we took our trip to Africa and visited his home country in, Kenya."

Okay I got a transcript and a 15min video.

http://www.traditionalvalues.org/2008-pvr/video/vid60.php

He also supported, in his career, full funding for the Ryan White Care Act and has pledged…(Applause) a national HIV/AIDS strategy to combat this continuing epidemic right here in the United States. (Applause)

He has also spoken out against the stigma surrounding HIV testing, which is still plaguing so many of our communities, which you all know---a lot of that is due to homophobia. Barack has led by example. When we took our trip to Africa and visited his home country in Kenya, we took a public HIV test----for the very point of showing folks in Kenya that there is nothing to be embarrassed about in getting tested. We did it….. (Applause)

Barack has also worked to expand healthcare, pass welfare reform. He’s worked to ensure that the brave men and women who serve this country…that they don’t have to fight a new battle when they come back from service. That battle to get healthcare, to get to the front of the line and to get the services they need to live a full and healthy life. And, that includes mental healthcare. Barack has been fighting for…(Applause)…

Do you suppose he would add as a parting shot, "And John McCain was too, so nyah, nyah, nyah, you hypocrites!"?

John McCain was born in the Canal Zone, which was supposed to be U.S. territory, until Jimmah gave it away.

Apparently our real rulers make more money with it under the current arrangement.

I had forgotten about Ryan and how his sealed divorce records were suddenly opened in campaign season. What utter scum our political class is.

You’re reading too much into this. people talk of their homeland, meaning where their forefathers came from.

I would agree with you under "normal" circumstances, but this is not normal.

First, of all there is a difference between the words Michelle used, "home country," and your word, "homeland." In my experience, it's quite ununusal -- in fact, I have never heard it -- for a person to use the words "home country" to describe the place where their forefathers came from.

Secondly, this was in 2008 and it was spoken by the wife of a man who was running for President of the United STates. Say what you will about Michelle, she is no dummie. No political spouse, but especially not one in the environment the Obamas were in in 2008 and one with a husband with such a mysterious and unusual personal past, would stand up and start talking about her husband's "home country" without realizing that, whoops!, she ought to watch her words.

Therefore, one has to wonder why she did not. I mean, in the political environment they were in, even if she were to talk about Obama's "homeland," in the sense you suggest, that would be just stupid. Does she really have no clue that people might object to a President who feels he has a "homeland" or a "home country" other than the United States?

You are quite correct, and that may very well be the proper context for her statement.

However.....what if it wasn't?

No matter, there's no doubt that you nailed what their response would immediately be.

This is why, either, a successful revolution, or a successful civil war are the DEFINITIVE SOLUTIONS to this ongoing problem of U.S. socialism. Just electing a majority of non-leftists in ‘10 and/or beyond won’t do it for conservatism, if leftist legislation that’s already in place really can’t be undone by future non-leftists.

I have too but only in relation to their ancestors, as in:
“homeland of my grandfather”, etc. I have never heard anyone of any decent refer to the nation of their ancestors as “their home land or home country”.

Regardless, I still find this, at the minimum, hopelessly naive and an exercise in futile political romanticism. Face it, this man had almost ZERO contact with his father or with Africa.

Except for his years in Indonesia, which is not Africa, this man was raised by a white grandmother, went to a fancy and expensive mostly white private school, and then went on to big-time white universities where he eventually decided (according to his biography) to “take on the identity of a black man.”

Okay, so if he wants to be a black man, fine. But to go on and on about how Kenya is his “homeland” or “home country” — but then it isn’t when that isn’t convenient or politically expedient — it’s just all very bizarre.

The worst thing is that one never seems to hear even minimally comparable expressions of a bond with, you know, the United States of America. I would really like to know Obambi’s honest answer to the question, “Do you feel like you are an American and, if so, what does being an American mean to you?”

That’s what they’ll say, though it does bring to mind the “my mooslimb faith” slip also.

Oh, for Pete’s sake.... You can’t get from “the home country” to “born there.”

No. My grandfather is from Sweden. Not once in my father’s entire life have I heard him refer to Sweden as his home country. Nobody talks like that as far as I’m aware. What state were you born in? Do you consider that your home state, or do you call the state where your parents are from your home state? The meaning of words matter.

I agree.

Look at how many people claim they are African-American, and that Africa is their 'home'.

How many of them have even EVER been to Africa?

It’s so curious that the Congress actually held hearings on whether John McCain was eligible for the presidency, but would not apply any scrutiny to Obambi’s eligibility.

I think this whole fiasco has exposed the vulnerability in the system, one which must be fixed for the future. Whether or not Obambi is eligible, this course of events clearly shows that, as a nation, we have no one ensuring our president is eligible — except some schlub at Party HQ who, applying an unknown standard, in an unknown and unchallengable process, says he’s eligible.

Why shouldn’t we have a law that sets out what Congress thinks constitutes a “natural born citizen,” a process for determining that in at least president-elects (if not nominees), a process for challenging that determination, and a remedy if a president-elect or sitting president is found ineligible?

Doesn’t seem like that’s too hard or too much effort to put in to vouchsafe the Constitution and our presidency.

Of course thats what she will say. My step dad was born in the USA of Italian immigrants and always called Italy the homeland and the homecountry.
