Study links dogs, not cats, to kids' asthma risk

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) – For children at higher-than-average risk of asthma, having a dog around the house may increase the chances of developing the lung disease, a new study suggests.

The study, which followed 380 children at increased risk of asthma due to family history, found that those exposed to relatively high levels of dog allergen at the age of 7 were more likely to have asthma.

In contrast, there was no relationship between cat-allergen exposure and a child's risk of asthma, according to findings published in the journal Pediatric Allergy and Immunology.

By nature of the way they hunt, cats are stealthier and take care of eliminating their odors through grooming and burying their waste.

If blindfolded with earmuffs on I could smell my dogs enter the room (even when they’re relatively clean/freshly showered.) No way I could smell the cat.

So this makes sense with that.

Funny. As a kid we always had dogs, no allergy issues to them at all.

If I even saw a cat while waiting for the bus to go to school, or God forbid, touch one, instant redeye, clogged nasal passages and the need for a bottle of SineAid.

Clearly a study by cat worshippers.

Cats provoke allergies in me like no other animal. And unfortunately few have any desirable redeeming qualities.

I think the cat spittle from “washing themselves” is a part of the problem. That tongue’s been LOTS of other places.

Pastor Henry Wright has facilitated complete healing of many hundreds, likely many thousands, of allergy and asthma sufferers . . .

INCLUDING THE HYPER SEVERE SORTS OF:

MULTIPLE CHEMICAL SENSITIVITIES/ENVIRONMENTAL

cases.

His book A MORE EXCELLENT WAY

and his website:

http://www.beinhealth.com

are good places to begin.

God has been showing him for 20 years the root causes of such things whether inherited spiritually or genetically via generational paths or otherwise.

I have had quite serious allergies all my life until I began applying his teachings. PRAISE GOD FOR HIS SOLUTIONS.

Yes, that’s an allergic reaction, not asthma.

Nothing to do with you, but one time we had a party for our coworkers, and one of the spouses was sitting comfortably in our living room and enjoying herself. About an hour into the conversation, the subject of pets came up, and Hubby mentioned that our cats were upstairs in a bedroom to keep them from getting excited or getting outside. The woman instantly started choking, and she gasped, “You have CATS???” as her eyes watered and turned red. She and her husband beat a path to the door and left the party.

That was psychosomatic if I ever saw it. No one said anything.
