Call the police. They will contact whomever needs to be contacted in the Post Office, if necessary. Sounds as if it may be necessary.

That was my thought but I was so flustered at the audacity I was momenarily left not only speechless, but thoughtless as well.

Wait for another time and record it or take pictures.
Without a recording you really don’t have much.
With a recording you can show anyone you need what is happening.

That’s pretty much a no-brainer. It’s not like you have to fill-out a Form 2453-CF (in triplicate) and send it in. Via mail.

Is she black or white, hot or ugly, fat or skinny? All of that will have bearing whether or not they will investigate her. If she is affirmative action, no action will be taken against her...your time reporting her is wasted.
To: misharu
What state are you in? In Texas you could go “Joe Horn” on her and end the crime spree.

That does sound fishy, unless she the owner of the house?

Even if that is the case (and I doubt it is) she still should not be using the USPS vehicle for personal use. Didn’t Cliff Clavin get in trouble for that once? :)
To: ConservativeMan55
“Contact the police.”
agreed. This is likely theft.

Yes, we should all learn law from TV sitcoms.

Maybe the owners of the house keep getting certified letters...collection notices....IRS notices?
Maybe she is just tired of sorting out mail for addresses that no longer are occupied and she was ‘checking’ the house for signs of life?

In Tampa, Florida the police won’t respond to reports of theft from vacant bank owned properties.

Perhaps she is a good friend of your neighbors, and was doing them a favor (picking something up for them / dropping something off).

“This is likely theft.”
Very likely - this is why we NEVER let the USPS “hold” our mail when we are out of town. I imagine a list in the local USPS that says “OUT OF TOWN BREAK INTO AT WILL”
