Everything they do in Washington is costing citizens money one way or another.

It's almost like they intended it that way....

DOE’s Secretary Steven Chu has announced the Department has finalized higher energy efficiency standards for a key group of heating appliances that will together save consumers up to $10 billion and prevent up to 164 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions over 30 years

Who's keeping a water heater or furnace for 30 years?

We just installed a new boiler and hot water heater in December. (Not the best time to do it in New Jersey) Makes we glad we didn’t wait — and we got a $1500 tax credit.

Lots of little upgrades have been done here too. New water heater several yrs. back. Replacement of the aluminum clad windows from 1972, attic insulation, soffits, gutters....

I am glad I did it all now and not wait another year or two.

All I have left is a few fresh coats of paint inside, poly the wood floors, and we’re nicely nested.
