FYI EVERYONE: There's a site called spokeo.com which is an online phone book that has name, address, phone number, credit score, income, profession, age, how many people live in the house, their names, price of house, etc, etc. Remove yourself by the Privacy button on the bottom right. They will send you an email,,and you can then 'delist' yourself with the info sent.

Yeah yeah ... good idea. Go to this website ... and and and ... click the button ... and and they send you an email (after you enter your email address) and and ... you send them one back so you can get OFF their list ...

You can get your listing off the website....you can get off the email listing as well.. I didn’t like the fact my income and family members were listed.

Same here. They got my age wrong, my address wrong, my income wrong, my astrological sign wrong, don’t know my job, interests, level of education... about the only things they know about me is that I’m female, white, and have no kids. Basically it’s just another zabasearch.

my two best girlfriends in Ohio
my sister about 10 minutes from here in Utah

each person I mentioned in my post included the street address where they lived; three included phone numbers (which, of course, I know). My b/f’s listing included the names of his parents. My friends’ included the names of their children, etc.

That was fun! I’m African American, live in a house valued at $1+ million, but live in a below average neighborhood. They did have my phone number and address right, but that’s about it, everything else was wrong.

Your phone number and address are out there. White pages, or zabasearch can give anyone that. I can take an address and look up property records on anyone in our county, find out who lives there, when they bought it, how much they paid, what their taxes on. My point, there’s lots of stuff on the web that’s accurate this spokeo site just seems to be making stuff up.

Just for giggles, I typed in a few names of people I know on their search. Not only was some of the information wildly inaccurate or out of date, some fields seemed to be just random entries based on generalizations about the area.

One couple, I tyed in husband, then the wife, and although they were listed as being at the same address, the descriptions of the home they live in varied wildly.

In one instance, the gender of the individual and their age were wrong, the latter off by ten plus years.

I wouldn't be very concerned about this unless you think people will use this dungheap to try to dig up information on you.

My wife and I aren’t on it. Funny thing is, our county has real estate and mortgage information on publicly accessible databases. We’re also listed in the phone book and have donated to political campaigns.
