If you know it was BS, then why repeat this as an example of a Sarah Palin "Gaffe" when it was instead a false charge. It is crap that you have decided to start with comparing Obama's nearly daily "Gaffes", also read as lies and misdirections by many except for the plain stupid ones like the Corpsemen or the 57 states.
A typical Obama gaffe is when he is caught telling the "truth" like accidentally saying he planned to "Spread the Wealth around" to "Joe the Plumber".
So don't be suprised if you start off with a distortion of Palin's record that folks come down on you like a ton of bricks.

The fact that so many do not understand how and why the quotation marks around the word gaffe were used baffles me.

I don’t feel all that bad because there are several people like you who have defended me that actually understood the context of the post.
It’s actually quite sad. I see a lot of smart people on here but apparently the zealots decided to come out of the wood work on this thread.
All I was attempting to do was utilize the knowledge base of this forum to find out what ELSE was being called a “gaffe”. The one I did forget about which was mentioned to me (no thanks to anyone on this thread) was the whole Bush Doctrine flub she had. I can’t remember anything else.
I also remember the left trying to label the death panel accusation as a “gaffe” (<-—notice quotation marks for those illiterate) even though it obviously wasn’t.
I guess the whole point was to obtain everything that was SUPPOSEDLY a gaffe or that which was embellished to the point it was purported to be a flub.
Reopening this dreck is a bit of a bolt out of the blue, but no I am not wrong. Your quotes do not forgive the fact that you repeated false allegations as if they were true but not "gaffes?." There are several things that Sarah has said or done that were reported as gaffes such as the "Palin Palm Pilot" which would have been an excellent example to your point and would have demonstrated exactly the non-gaffe nature of this supposed error.
Instead, you chose to report inflammatory information and thus, folks are saying, "hold on there..."
So, you get over it and quit pretending that you have any legs to stand on in this.

Quotation marks were around the word in question. Secondly quotation marks from the phrase in question were followed by “via Saturday Night Live”, which would indicate the quote came from a KNOWN FICTIONAL SOURCE.
Unfortunately for you and others, the application of your reading skills stopped at the phrase in question which immediately garnered a response.
Otherwise, if it were understood the way you zealots have portrayed it/spun it after the fact; you would have at least acknowledged the perceived error and added some additional information to answer the REQUEST that was apparent in the original posting. Intent would have also been understood initially. This did not happen,why? Because the entire post was NOT READ by those upset by it, including you.

Most people would have apologized for the bad wording or even more appropriately asked a mod to help change the wording if it was causing problems. Instead, you took the time to berate 16 out of 45 different posters to your thead calling them stupid and such and that just isn't cool. Yes, you had a few defenders, but most of this thread and certainly our recent interchange has been more about what getting the last word.
