Watch your wording means exactly that, to wit:
Anyone can now exactly quote you, commie cutter, as saying:
" how many "gaffes" Palin has had besides the 'I can see Russia from my house'?"
The wording stipulates Palin and the quote, a gift to the leftist character assassins.
If you had stated "Sarah Palin was fraudulently accused of being uninformed", it would be useless to the leftists.

The responsibility to ensure that your word are not misinterpreted is yours.
The fact that so many were left with a different impression that what you had intended for your words to convey should tell you something.
It wouldn't have hurt to toss in a word like BOGUS..........FALSE......LIE.
