A 49-year-old woman was arrested as police claim she nearly struck an officer with a thrown inhaler. Janice McCoy-Nuttle, of the 900 block of Beech Street, was laying in a bed surrounded by as many as seven Chihuahaus and 10 cages filled with birds.
Police report a white parrot was standing on her forehead at the time, biting her face, while another smaller bird was perched on her chest. She was reportedly intoxicated to the point where she could not stand up and speak to officers and was unable to remove the bird from her face. Police were dispatched to the residence for a reported domestic disturbance between McCoy-Nuttle, her husband and some neighbors. The couple had reportedly been out celebrating the husband's homecoming after a four-month stint away from home for work.
Officers spoke with her husband, who appeared to be bleeding from the ear at the time. He gave officers several conflicting stories regarding his injury, ranging from McCoy-Nuttle pulling on his ear to injuring it while he was getting out of a vehicle.
McCoy-Nuttle became upset with her husband at some point and attempted to throw an inhaler at him, nearly striking an officer in the process, police said. She was arrested for disorderly conduct and taken to the Middletown City Jail, where police report she was increasingly uncooperative and threatened to kill herself.

Ok... I understand the odd nature of this situation, but the fact is she did not hit anyone with the 2 to 3 ounce inhaler. Why is it noteworthy?
To: dfwgator
The plumage don’t enter into it. It’s stone dead!

Er... is an ‘inhaler’ what I think it is? Little plastic tube, some kind of squeeze pump, something like that? They must have mighty men in the Dayton PD to survive such blows in the course of duty.
Let people get away with inhalers and the next thing you know it’s rubber chickens....

I guess it PO’ed the good officers that she would have the nerve to throw anything at them. You’d be amazed at what they call assault when it’s a police officer.

It’s an aerosol canister, about 5/8 inch in diameter, about 2 inches in length, weighs about 2 ounces. Your average deadly weapon.

Good lord. If I brought this chick into the stationhouse, the desk Sgt would see to it that my life was miserable for the next month. If this woman had to go somewhere, she would have gone to the hospital and nowhere else.

my oldest told me that a kid on the school bus lost her phone.
Her father is a cop.
Now nearly a week later the cop still comes on the bus telling kids that they will be done for theft if they are found to have took the phone.
Today a theft report was wrote by the cop.
Now imagine if my kid lost their phone and I reported it to the cops. The cops would tell me that they are too busy to look for a kids phone which they might have either lost or get stolen.

Parrots are quite sensitive, and “imprint” on a particular human.
Cases of obsessive feather picking such as the one you pictured can occur if that relationship is disrupted.
Or sometimes they just go psycho.
