Guns as investments

Buying guns as an investment can make sense if youre buying something truly funky and perhaps one-of-a-kind. Pat Garrett’s Colt revolver, the handgun Clinton lieutenants used to kill Vince Foster, Annie Oakley’s .22 rifle, a toolroom prototype from S&W, etc, etc.

This line amused me. Guns as an investment? Doubtful as the author sez.

Quality guns seem to always go up in value , as if there is never a good time to sell them because you will be sorry . Just buy more and shoot them all .

I read an article that a guy said guns appreciate at 12% per year. AK 47 went form $200 to over $1000 under Klinton. With the bombers inflation coming they could double or triple in a year.

Best bet for gun investments is to buy antique double barrel shotguns that need wood repairs from people that don’t know what they got. Then learn to fix them yourself.

If you had bought ruger #1s and Old Model Blackhawks as well as series 70 Colt 1911s and left them unfired, theyde be worth 2-3 times their original value now.

Try and buy a nice Ruger #1 from the 70s or 80s for less than a grand now NIB. Not to mention an original Bren Ten or the left handed randall 1911.

The Bren Ten was made in Huntington Beach Calif a buddy of mine worked there we would take the new ones over to the old police range and test fire them. some of them would go fully auto on ya kinda crazy you would test them with three rounds first then a full clip FYI Bren tens were a pile of crap Sonny Croket like them

Any investment needs research and knowledge. My son has been dabbling in the stock market for the last couple of years and he’s doing very well because he works at it.

LOL

When the SHTF, a M1911A1 and 50 rounds of ammo will be worth their weight in gold......

or not. But, by then it might too late, so buy more guns now, while you still can!
