You may want to check out http://www.spokeo.com to see what personal information is there. Spokeo.com is a new online phone book w/personal information: everything from pics you've posted on FB or web, your approx credit score, home value, income, age, etc. You can remove yourself by first searching for yourself on their site to find the URL of your page and going... to the Privacy button on the bottom of their page to remove yourself which takes you to http://www.spokeo.com/privacy. Pass this onto those you care about.
Weird site. Nothing on my husband and me. My daughter and sonIL will be surprised that their $200K house is valued by these folks at $1million.

I just put my name in for fun and nearly all of it was wrong. I think it guesses on stuff. I have posted a gazillion things on the web and it listed nothing. Had my home at over a million dollars but my neighborhood as below average. I live in a pretty nice neighborhood, but tell me, if my house was worth a million, my neighborhood certainly wouldn’t be below average.
Also said I wasn’t interested in politics. That’s a joke. The only thing it had right was my address and name. Everything else was pure fabrication.
I must be pretty stealth. They had nothing on me regarding my name or emails.
Nothing on me and I have a listed phone number.
I was fortunate to be given a nickname early in life that has no connection to my real first name. All my friends and family have referred to me by my nickname and I use my real name only for professional reasons. My facebook is under my nickname but my phone number, lease, credit cards, etc. use my real name. Works out well in this era where nothing is private anymore.
I got my name and husband’s off spokeo but it took a bit-you have to find ‘contact’ and it is not easily seen, at least for me it was not, then you type your request and send it and it gets info from you and sends to your email a link you copy and paste and go to and then it deletes your information. I am glad for the reminder, I might as well check and make sure they did not re-enter our names and information.

I ran my name through (no way there is a duplicate - very small family with most uncommon last name) and found out that I am an early 40s asian living in a 1 million dollar home. They had my fax number right. Everything else was way off.
They had all of my info right except they said I had a 1 Million Dollar home also.
Me too. Laughing at all the misinformation. Let it stand.

Nothing damning on me. They have my old address from about 15 years ago and that is it. The pics are wrong and they wayyyyyy overestimated my personal wealth.

LOL, they got most of it wrong, I live in a million dollar house but I only make 27K a year. I have no children. As you can see, I rarely tell the truth on the internet.

It has me down under two separate names still in my ex-husband’s house. All the info is my ex’s.
They said the same about me. They have my husband as Asian and that we’ve lived in our home for 9 years, just 21 yrs off. It says I’m interested in toys.
My wife has been hiding two of the kids some where in my million plus dollar house that is in a below average area. Hey maybe the extra two kids arn’t mine.
They request even more information to be removed. I smell paranoia ripoff.
