We need a Triple Crown! It’s been 32 years, longer than the break between Citation and Secretariat. (BTW, I was at Belmont the day Secretariat won the Triple Crown.)
The most dominant horse I’ve ever seen. He won the Belmont by 31 1/2 lengths! As he was crossing the finish line, the rest of the field was coming around the last turn — and he was gaining on them. He paid $2.10, $2.10, and $2.10.

As always, I’m picking the horses by their names...I like the exacta of Awesome Act and Devil May Care. Hey, it’s as good as anything else!!! One year my Dad picked the Trifecta and won over $8k! It was amazing!

Check the trainers and jockeys.
Of course, I have the disadvantage of not being there. I'm a paddock bettor.
Does the Delta Queen still race the Belle of Louisville from Cincinnati down to Louisville the day before Derby Day?

Keep an eye on those who run best in mud. Louisville is under a Flash Flood Watch today, this looks to be one of the wettest Derby Days in history.

Do horsie races ever get rained out? The rain is supposed to increase as the morning goes on.

Awfully wet out there. Off the turf, except for the Turf Classic.
Leaning towards Awesome Act. As wide open as they come.

Winner of first sat in fourth about four lengths back, behind a slow pace. Stayed in about the 4 or 5 path all the way around.
Off to the track. Good luck.

Did you hear Borel say to two people that “I’m goinig to win the Triple Crown on this horse”? The sport sure could use that — it’s been 32 years.
Super saver has the same initials as the last Triple Crown winner, Seattle Slew.

Nope, I missed that. It'd be a great thing. I don't follow horse racing like I did years and years ago, but I try not to miss the Triple Crown races.

SEATTLE SLEW <
They're such beautiful critters. He had a kind eye.

I’m usually a late bettor anyway — I like to see the horses down in the paddock. The walk from the paddock is the best I can do for that on TV.

It’s been 32 years since Slew and we need a Triple Crown.
I had the good fortunre to be at Belmont Park on June 9, 1973 when Secretariat won his Triple Crown.

Thank you. He had an awful trip. Depending on who shows up that missed this dance hes either favorite or no worse than 3rd choice in the Preakness. If no new horses show (some big ones missed it due to injury)Ice Box is probably favored. I’d guess he was 5 lengths the best but that’s why they call it gambling.
