Fanti and Maggiolo concluded the shroud image was created by a "corona discharge," understood as a radiant burst of light and energy that scorched the body image of the crucified man on the topmost fibers of the shroud's front and back sides, without producing any image on the centermost of its linen fibers.
"Imagine slicing a human hair lengthwise, from end to end, into 100 long thin slices; each slice one-tenth the width of a single red blood cell," writes Daniel Porter, editor of ShroudStory.com. "The images on the Shroud of Turin, at their thickest, are this thin."
Fanti and Maggiolo found the faint image of the face on the reverse side of the shroud contained the same 3D information contained in the face and body image of the crucified man seen on the shroud's front side.

Here’s an article on the gal.

A quote from the lady physicist:
“The Shroud and the tomb signifies an unbelievable beginning, because in the depth of the collapsed event horizon there is something which science knows as ‘singularity.’ This is exactly what started the universe. We have nothing less in the tomb of Christ than the beginning of a new universe.” This is resurrection in its truest sense. This is the starting base for the new physics.”
OK. Sigh. Thanks. Sorry about that.
How interesting. Not touching the body all the way around.
Beyond quantum physics.

Not even possibly fake.
Wow.
BTTT
My wife and I will be flying to Turin on Tuesday to see it in person. Will give a full report when I return.

Nope, it didn't, though most folks believe that, because that's what the media proclaimed at the time.
One of the most skeptical of the original scientists doing the carbon dating did some further study, spurred on my a couple doing some history study at their kitchen table. They had read up on the history of the shroud, and discovered that it had been repaired by some nuns in a French convent in the Middle Ages, using a technique called 'French re-weaving'. It involves weaving threads into a damaged area in such a way that you can't tell, from looking at it, that it was ever damaged.
The contacted the scientist, who looked very closely at the sample he had, and realized that they were right. Where there should have been only linen in the sample, if it were only the original fabric, the scientist found threads of COTTON. He then understood why the different teams of scientists, each doing Carbon dating separately, had come of with such a wide range of dates, which, when averaged, gave a time from some time in the early Middle Ages. They were getting readings from materials from two different time frames, but that were woven together.
In order to more firmly get a Carbon dating reading, a sample needs to be taken from an area that was never repaired. Don't know if this will happen, or not, but it would be interesting to know.
This was reproduced on TV through an experiement.
The shroud is a FAKE.
Don’t buy into this.
THX.
thanks so much for the ping, although I have to admit a lot of the science is beyond me
If you could ping me to that report, I’d be happy. Enjoy your trip!
Thanks for the ping!

These are the types I prefer researching it. If it stands up to their scrutiny then it’s more reliable than what some at Catholic.org might claim.
It may well be what it appears to be.shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiachHowever it must not be worshiped like some golden calf.
.
i dont mind them researching it, however, ‘these types’ are the ones who dismiss apriori, the manifestation of Christ, if it points in that direction...and that is shame...
the decades and decades of research into the shroud have shown lots of grand ideas on how to create this, yet none match what we have on the shroud itself....the evidence points continually in a direction that ‘these types’ dont want to go, that is the problem i have.
Thanks for the ping!
