Well, that certainly beats our copper fire extinguisher lamp. I have surrounded it with tall, leafy plants and placed a high-backed couch in front of it.

A gay man I knew told me that lamp was proof positive my husband is straight! LOL!

Spider in Pale Rider:

"One nugget. I'd like to find me one big nugget.

I'd shove it so far up LaHood's ass it'd wink at him when he washes his teeth."

{Wish came true}

"LaHood!

It's old Spider!

Come on out and have a drink with an honest man, you skunk's butt!"

No, he knew a fireman who had a dozen of them and they got to talking and the other guy managed to get rid of one to my husband.

It is engraved and quite decorative, I will give it that. It also sort of stands out like a sore thumb, no matter where it is. He felt the house decor was all mine and wanted to add something that was his.

I have managed to make it as unobtrusive as possible. I won’t get rid of it, because, well, he does live here, too. All his buddies like it and, of course, when I have offered it to them, their wives roll their eyes and my husband looks hurt, so it stays.

When that Mantiques post showed up, I showed it to him and asked what he had out in the barn that we could maybe sell. Turns out, we have a lot, it is all worth thousands just as it is (sic), will come in very handy when the SHTF and he ain’t selling nothing, especially to a bunch of urban gays!

SIGH. At least he did get rid of the metal lathe after about ten years. No one ever made a dime off it, as the former owner, my husband and the present owner each had to rent equipment and find extra muscle to move the thing. I’m pretty sure the mourning doves miss it. They nested there for years.

Interesting thing about gold...I love and collect rocks and last year my son gave me for Christmas a piece of rock the size of a chunk of driveway gravel, Embedded in it is small flex's of gold and crystals...I looked it up on the internet and to find gold, (or silver) locked into crystals is very rare...but the rock is full of crystals and flecks of gold..he also gave me a large piece of 100% copper, (not rare.

There is a specific name for such a gold and crystal rock, but being older than dirt myself, I forgot the name...

Sounds beautiful. Rocks are so cool!

Would it be rutilated quartz?

Wow, I want a dozen of them...Nope it doesn't look like that. I could call my son and get the name of this rock, but the crystals are clear, and through out the rock as is the pieces of gold., I have looked at it under a magnifying glass and with that you can see a few gold flecks not visible to the naked eye.It has lots of flecks visible to the naked eye...I did also find it listed in my book of rocks and minerals, but only God knows where that book is right now...

My granddaughter recently gave me a large piece of (what she said was a rock) but when I handled it it was more like iron ore, very heavy. It had some odd colored small flecks of color and under the magnifying glass were very fine strands of copper...So I guess it copper ore. I live in Michigan and the copper country in the upper has lots of copper ore..I didn't realize it was as heavy as iron ore...

That is a perfect photo for “watch your next step, you might find gold.

Not a spot that I would want to work in.

Thanks for sharing the photo.
