The central premise of Tea Party loyalists, after all, was that they were anti-government. You know the drill: All government is bad. Taxes are bad. Government bureaucrats are bad.

Then, unfortunately for them, just as they were gaining traction, tea baggers ran into the reality of tornadoes, disastrous floods, an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, and a terrorist attack in Times Square....

The Federal Government NOW mandates that every man woman and child carry adequate (as determined by the IRS) healthcare insurance coverage.

Obama had better damn mandate that people also carry flood, fire, theft, wind, and earthquake insurance. The government can't afford all of these "emergency room" bailouts because you lost your house.

These fools see no threat from unlimited government, or perhaps they expect to share unlimited power themselves.

The Tea Party Movement needs to stop overstressing the tax issues and put more stress on defending the constitution.

The constitutional convention people are infiltrating back in, many of them willing to sacrifice most of the constitution to get the tax reform they want.

If people don't start paying more attention to all the undercurrents the movement will become corrupted and irrelevant.

Take the Times Square bomber. He was identified, tracked down, and apprehended exactly 53 hours and 17 minutes from the time he parked his lethal van at 45th and 7th Avenue. How? Through excellent police work by the New York City Police Department, the FBI, and the Department of Homeland Security.

Only if you ignore the facts that it was a hot dog vendor who found the bomb and the FBI, DHS, TSA and the NYPD all let him get on a plane.

He was on a watch list reportedly going back to 1999. He certainly was by 2006 and he was given another check in 2009. And yet he wasn't on the "do not fly list".

That is a FAILURE of government, nothing to be proud of.

If the guy had not been so inept, he would have left the country immediately after leaving the scene.
