Conservative does not need any qualifiers to make it sound more enlightened. If you are going to use one, the classic "rock-ribbed" is what it should be. Of course, those folks are few and far between, it appears.
Unfortunately this is becoming an apt description of pissant.
This is crap pissant. You aren't doing DeVore any favors and doing the rest of us little good either.
DeVore has a week to gain 10 points in the polls. If he does that, there isn't a person here who wouldn't say you aren't on track, but as that is unlikely in the extreme, you are probably just being a whiny spoil sport and you need to step back and think about what you are doing.
I’ll let RINO apologists like you pimp for Gnarly. I’ll send DeVore another donation in your honor.
Its your money. You need to discover where RINO country begins. You are pitching a fit when someone is Republican just not a paleo-conservative Republican and that does not a RINO make. If 50% is the middle.. then lets say anyone to the right of 40% is both conservative and Republican too.
Carly is in this camp. It is partially why the HP people around her hate her so, because she swept out the old HP that was part of a by-gone era and though she was hated, established the basis for HP to be one of the leading PC manufacturers today. Otherwise, they would have been gone like so many others.
As they say, you just have unrealistic expectations at this point.
But if you wish, max out on DeVore. Just remember, when that guy loses don't whine about it around here. Because you are just burning your money.
I think her tenure at HP was one of the worst performance I’ve seen at a major corporation.
I understand that. And the press and the old guard HP people hated her. CEO's aren't always loved, and the ones who don't insist on being loved are sometimes the best. The shareholders of HP got their value from Carly, but Carly ended up with taking the arrows that big boys and girls sometimes have to take when they undertake to do a job.
At HP, the question was whether HP could stay a family corporation or compete with the likes of Dell and IBM. Carly cut away the old family business, and this enraged many in the company who wanted things to stay the way they were.
Well I have news for you, where are Unisys? Amdall? Tandy? Texas Instruments? Prime? Digital? Data General? HP is one of the major PC manufactures today and its Carly's fault, like it or not. This is why people who understand such things understand her accomplishments when the papers and the media made her out to be a witch.
I understand such things. Which is why I know she sucked.
Before that, who was it that conjured up the "Stupid Party" label for the GOP? Hard to tell, since it was so obvious to everyone that none of the elected GOP people cared one bit about the party platform.
RINOs at the top since GHWB, and all the way down the ranks of elected people. With zero conservatives in leadership, it doesn't matter how many conservatives are elected, they will have to keep placating the RINOs at the top. And the Democrats will continue to set the agenda and win.
We can't get all the RINOs replaced, but if we can get some of them replaced with conservatives, AND get a solid conservative leader at the top of the party, one who will take the fight to the enemy, we can drag along the remaining limp-wristed RINOs, and perhaps save the nation.
Cantor didn’t think of the slogan. Some nitwit did and it sucks.
Now that is common sense I CAN believe in.
Now why would you think I would lack the common sense to belive Cantor was behind this?
Exactly.
And I am so pissed that I didn't make "the list."
Which “list”, compassionate or common sense?
Sadly, 40 years from now people won't be able to spell conservative, thanks to public education.
"HP just really isn't such a special place anymore," said David Woodley Packard, a former HP board member whose father cofounded the company. "She came in and turned it into something else, and I don't think it was necessary."
But in at least one key respect, Fiorina's reign at the helm of the iconic Silicon Valley firm has been vindicated by time. Her signature move while at HP a $25 billion megamerger with Compaq that was panned by many observers at the time has turned out to be a boon for the company, several experts now acknowledge. That acquisition and others undertaken by Fiorina's successor, Mark Hurd, have made Palo Alto-based HP the largest technology company in the world.
"She created a situation where the company could be successful, but it took others to actually make it work," said technology analyst Rob Enderle.
This is not a picture of a bleeding heart liberal. Instead, she is a hard nosed no non-sense business person who saved HP but ended up taking the hit because the changes necessary were unwanted and unwelcome. But, most of the competitors that didn't make the change are gone. Dinosaurs from a lost time in the past.
I’ve read all about her tenure there. She stunk the joint up
Grown ups look at a situation and deal with what is, babies whine and wish. Liberals hate her, Liberals write the columns, especially in the Tech world. And you are a sucker for their crap. And yet, even while trashing her, in the column I sent to you they admitted that she saved HP and put it on the current track as one of the most successful computer companies in the world. What do you want? Grow up.
You can pretend all you want. Your ‘facts’ don’s square with reality. They should have fired her incompetent ass long before they did.
There was a list of "Palin haters" here earlier today, quickly zotted... You were on it, Kimberly GG and indylindy were on it, as were quite a few others (EXCEPT ME). Seemed like pretty good company.
Kinda reminiscent of the ol' "Thompson hater" list.
Damn. How did I miss it! Of course, I don’t hate Palin. I kinda like her. I just think she needs to be Sec of Energy or some such, not President.
As opposed to your "facts" which amount to off of the cuff statements, I have cited one of many analysts opinions about the matter who actually are competent to have an opinion. I also picked a source that was hostile to her to show that even through the hostility, there are certain facts that show through. That Carly pointed HP in the direction of survival.
Corporate leadership is as much about politics and intrigue as it is about numbers and sales. It is a hard hard place. Fiorina went against the HP founder board members and bested them. However, as they say, eventually the price has to be paid. Once Fiorina had accomplished what she could as the "bad cop", HP ejected her and replaced her with the "good cop".
The disposal of the Instrument's division was ordained before Firoina was hired and this is where all of the ire and pain was coming from, as HP left its beginnings as a Super high end instrument company and became a world class computer company. She led this transition in a take no prisoners way that wasn't and frankly couldn't be handled in a popular fashion but she did it and HP shareholders reaped Billions in value because of her work. And frankly a huge number of HP and Compaq workers kept their jobs when most every other manufacturer shut their doors.
My question to you is does that bother you? It seems like it does.
If you show me a universally loved CEO I will show you someone who is hiding in their office.
You have no facts. Just conjecture and opinions.
