company run by former Dallas Mavericks owner Ross Perot Jr. filed suit Monday against the club and Mark Cuban's company that holds majority ownership in it, alleging that it's insolvent or verging on insolvency.
In the 13-page petition filed in a state district court in Dallas, Hillwood Investment Properties III Ltd. asked that a judge place Dallas Basketball Ltd., the team's business management, in receivership and order an independent audit of its operations. Hillwood also is seeking actual and punitive damages.

The Texas Rangers are in bad shape too.
“The biggest mistake I have made with the Mavs was keeping him as a partner,” Cuban said of Perot. “The Mavs are just fine — except for the time and money we will have to waste dealing with Perot.”
Go Cowboys! Not.
Dirk is eligible for free agency this year....wonder if this plays into his decision.
I hate that!
The entire NBA is in trouble.
I hope he spends it all. I think I’ll pen a script and see if I can help him into personal insolvency...so should you.
Yep the entire NHL has higher attendance than the entire NBA.
“The entire NBA is in trouble.”
My thoughts exactly. The Pacers are trying to get the city of Indianapolis to take on operations of Conseco Fieldhouse. The existing business plan called for more butts in the seats. My last Pacer’s game was in December ‘08 to watch the Celtics on a Sunday evening. The game was well-attended, but there were very few Pacers’ jerseys in the crowd. There were LOTS of Colts jerseys, as the Colts had played a home game earlier that day.
Right now NHL hockey is a much better product. We go all the way to Columbus twice a year to watch the Blue Jackets. We wouldn’t walk across to the street to see the Pacers.
If Cuban is insolvent, all I can say is, “it couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.”
Yep, especially now that it looks like that Kobe vs LeBron matchup isn't going to happen.
