What? No Aztek?
Crap...my ‘03 Montana didn’t make the list!
The Fiero was a s-box.
The 1965 Goat with tri-power was a beautiful car. :)
And NO rubberband powered T-1000??? How can this be?

Sorry, no Aztek. How about this?
No 1974 SD 455 TA on this list?
It’s a list of Pontiacs, but greatest is not a word to be associated with it.
My 2000 Montana is the reason why I’ll never buy another GM product. Never.
Doesn’t really matter does it? Obama took the Pontiac out behind the building and put a bullet in its head.
Racist action against a Great North American.
Fiero, it looked like sports care but drove like a truck. Wow, how did that make the list?
Which Bonneville, I had a 1995 that I liked quite a bit, but I’m not sure that it was “greatest”.
Revoltingly stupid list.
In a weaker moment I actually considered buying a 1988 Fiero GT, but then I changed my mind and bought one the first Acura Integras - which was a fine car and lasted 7 years and nearly 130K miles before a mindless college student totaled it for me. During all that time I thought about what would have been the case had I bought the Pontiac - and I realized I had dodged a bullet.
My 1966 GTO was great and the first new car I ever owned.
I liked the early 90’s Bonnevilles. I didn’t own one, but I rented it every chance I got.
You mean a car they put together using the front and the back of a Trans Am?
I had a sister version of that vehicle. I put 140k miles on it, never required anything but brakes and fluid changes. At 135k the gas guage started acting up, sold it that way.
That was the cheapest to own vehicle I have ever had.
no mention of Jim Rockford’s car?
Actually Pontiac was on life support (and fading fast) before Obama was annointed.
He just helped to pull the plug.
TTIWWP!

Um, what about the ‘73 455-SD T/A
I was kinda partial to my 70’ Formula 400 RA III
I think you style of Bonneville was made from 1992 to like 2008. With little to no changes.
That kind of brain-dead thinking is one of the many reasons Pontiac is gone.
Deservedly so.
Not necessarily but you point is well taken. My guess is that your Fiero, had you decided to buy it, would have been in the shop for repairs at the point in time when you Integra was totaled.
It was a great family car, probably the most comfortable driving seat my bottom has had the pleasure to meet. Pretty spunky 6 cylinder engine and about 26 mpg on the highway.
I really like it but I’m not aware that it was a particulary popular car.
Wasn’t that the Pontiac version of the Chevette?
lolol
My brother owned a Chevette for 20 years. He only went through 3 engines.
My first car was a turqouise, convertible ‘65 GTO! Bought it in June of ‘76 for $450! Transmission failed in Dec ‘76. I still loved that car though!
1970 Firebird 400 rag-top.
I can’t quite understand what you are saying but the model had a complete overhaul after I bought mine. Completely different car. Smaller and definately, IMO on the ugly side.
The mid 2000’s “Aussie” GTO is a much nicer car than its reputation and really should be on this list, instead of the ‘70’s behemoth Trans AM and, for cryinoutloud, the Fiero.
Sorry, meant 68 FB 400. I’m getting old....
Those are two of the greatest, esp. the top one, which is THE greatest.
No mention of KITT on the entire thread? For shame!
From what I remember from the articles in the 80s, the Fiero was first designed as an econobox commuter car that would be easy to repair from collisions due to bolt-on plastic body panels.
Somewhere in the middle of the project they decided to make it a sports car, but didn’t change some of the basic things about the project needed to make it a decent sports car.
And what about the 1963 421 “swiss cheese” Super Duty Catalina.
Except for the hard top and color, that’s the car! Sharp!
“Wasnt that the Pontiac version of the Chevette?”
Yeah, Buddy it sure was! I could change the rubberband in one of those heaps in about 20 minutes. I had enough practice!
Had more than a few of those things with the dreaded “low engine knock” right off of the transport, too. We would just rev the engine until it blew/seized rather than pull the engine and repair it.
Those UAW turds sure could ship out some crap.
The Fiero wasn’t any better, either.
Whoever put that list together sure is not a gearhead.

It was a beast to drive. The gear box was like shifting a Mack truck. Cool to look at though.
Then again I owned my stickshift Chevette for eight years, put 120,000 miles on it, and only got rid of it because I was T-boned in a parking lot by a speeding drunk. I really liked that little car.

A beauty....is it yours????
I was kinda fond of the old Safari wagon.
The early Fiero's were neat to look at, but had a lot to be desired. They got it just right by '88...just in time to cancel it.
Had they continued and turbocharged the V6 as planned, it would have been every bit the car the MR2 turned out to be.

Love the ‘65 Pontiacs. Pretty much all of them were great-looking cars.
One of my Uncles bought himself a new 1966 GTO when he came home from Vietnam. I loved that car and remember being pinned to the seat on more than one occasion. LOL Mom would’ve killed Dad if she knew how often he tok me out on the backroads drag racing when he was supposed to be babysitting. :) I had a wonderful time and was always bucked in in the back seat.
Doesn't seem like you ever drove the 1988 model which had a completely redesigned suspension system from the 1984 - 87 models. And yes, I am a Fiero fan. Got an '88 sitting in my garage that I bought new!
The 1973 Pontiac Astre didn’t make the list?
