FOLLOWING A period of intense prayer during which he knelt on damp grass as he gazed heavenwards at Knock shrine yesterday, self-proclaimed visionary Joe Coleman claimed he had been imparted a fantastic message by Our Lady.
Jabbing his finger at a cloudy sky, Mr Coleman said: I seen her there and I seen her there. She did make herself known.
Although reluctant to go into any details about the message he had received, Mr Coleman did say the Blessed Virgin had been angry about the way he had been treated by shrine authorities.
He complained that he and his followers had not been allowed to pray as they had wished in the Apparition Chapel, part of the largest shrine in the world dedicated to Our Blessed Lady.
About 200 people attended yesterdays event, a much smaller turnout than previous visions.
I saw Jesus in a piece of toast once.
Okay it was actually a picture online and it was just a long haired guy with a beard.
Might have been a Hells’ Angel now that I think about it.
Was that even a real piece of toast? Might have been a cinnamon roll....
General interest ping.
With this nation in the mess it’s in, the last thing we need is idolatry and paganism.
People wear sunglasses to shield their eyes from the sun as Joe Coleman from Dublin prays at Knock shrine in Co Mayo yesterday, where he claimed he had seen the Blessed Virgin Mary.
I once heard that they were selling autographed pictures of Jesus. They were in black & white so I decided against buying them. B&W in the 21st century? I knew they were fake.
I think it was scholar Rene Laurentin that estimated that there were --- ballpark --- 20,000 reported Marian apparitions since 1917? And the number given even the limited "negative approval" by the Church? As I remember it, 3: one in Akita, Japan; one in Rwanda; one in Syria.
Bottom line: no belief in apparitions is required "de fide"; and in most cases, the Chhurch authorities (i.e. the local bishops) emphasize either (1) there's not enough evidence pro or con, or (2) caution with regard to the so-frequent errors of wishful thinking, imagination, or mistaken perception.
He forgot to mention the part about mushrooms in the cow pasture.
Yeah I remember the Jesus pancakes on ebay..man I couldnt stop laughing. People are nuts.
Sound advice. Are you going to take it anytime soon?
Thanks for the ping!
Will check it out.
Have received and begun the two excellent texts summarizing and detailing the
VERY FULL OF INTEGRITY
RESEARCH EFFORTS INTO WHAT REALLY HAPPENED AT FATIMA.
I didn’t know that 3-4 occult groups PUBLISHED IN 4 PORTUGESE NEWSPAPERS A FEW DAYS TO SEVERAL MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENTS OF FATIMA A GENERALIZED DESCRIPTION OF SOME SUCH DRAMATIC OCCURRING AND THE DATE THE FATIMA INCIDENTS FIRST BEGAN.
I find that very telling.
Also, as I’d come to understand, it was OTHERS, not the children, WHO INSISTED THAT THE PERSONAGE THEY’D SEEN WAS MARY.
