It’s difficult to predict any long term trends.
The Dems looked beaten fairly bad in 2004, losing the presidential race and with the GOP holding congress.
Just two years later, they came roaring back, smashing Dubya badly and sending the GOPers in congress packing. In 2008, their rout of the GOP continued, winning the presidency with over 50% of the vote for the first time since 1964, and making remarkable gains in the House and Senate.
I’d say 2010 and 2012 should be good years for the GOP and conservatives, but I’m reluctant to make any prediction too far into the future.
Hard to argue with that. Pubbies better deliver on what the voters want, or their a$$es will be next. IMHO, there are millions of over-50 voters that don't want to leave our kids and grandkids with a ruinous federal debt. By and large, those are the Tea Partiers.
