NBC asleep at the switch.

For West Coast viewers, Trump goes to commercial as a last tease before announcing the Celebrity Apprentice winner, and the NBC promo for the Tonight Show says "New Celebrity Apprentice Brett Michaels tommorow on Jay," just before returning the the last minute of the show when Trump announces the winner.

I live on the West coast and saw the commercial. It did not say that Brett Michaels won, it simply said he would be on Jay Leno. Just from that announcement we assumed Brett won.

Bump for Brett Michaels. Great guy and deserves the win. Prayers go out to him to continue to heal and to stay healthy.

The East coast media is oblivious to the fact that there are people outside of their time zone.

That’s all Hollywood’s fault.

They did run the promo here on the East Coast. I thought they said it was on Tuesday.

Great post. Even better source! To me this is FR at its best, when FReepers are way out in front of the news. Look for this one to hit the media in a few hours.

I forgot to say that the East Coast vs West Coast TV thing is no accident. Started in the late 1950s. TV’s rise was meteoric then. Hollywood that didn't think TV was going anywhere was suddenly in direct competition with them and losing. They then came up with the “brilliant” solution of kicking TV productions out of their studios. When TV said “fine, we'll just move down the road and make our own studios,” Hollywood responded by kicking them completely out of Southern California. TV had two choices, start from scratch somewhere else out West or go where studios and stages already existed. IIRC they even considered Chicago but settled on NYC. So that's how the “war” began.

It wasn't an amicable split. For a few years almost every entertainment program on TV was live stage productions from NYC. Hollywood soon realized their ban was short sighted and started selling to TV but at primo pricing. This continued all through the sixties. TV pushed back by making sure the West Coast didn't get much of a break on shows or the times. The biggest exclamation point of all to the “war’ came in 1971 with the announcers voice;

“From Television City In New York...”

and then Caroll O’Conner singing the opening theme to the number one TV show for the next 5 years, “ All In The Family.” It was an up yours to Hollywood.

The “war” started to wane in the mid 70s but the last remnants could be seen up until the late 80s. The end result was Hollywood basically lost and the East Coast TV establishment has set the show times on most all shows for decades.

No big deal since nobody was watching NBC anyway. The finale of LOST likely slaughtered Trump’s big moment.

I’m not joking, and I obviously have the wrong person, so I don’t mean to be offensive, but I thought he was nearly dead, victim of brain disease and a stroke.

Let's not overreact ...

You read about Conan, you read about his birth
He was the strongest man that ever lived on earth.
One day old Conan was walking alone
He looked down on the ground and he saw an old jaw-bone.
He lifted up that jaw-bone and he swung it over his head,
And when he got to moving ten thousand was dead.

If I had my way,
If I had my way in this wicked world,
If I had my way I would tear this building down.
